Really fun game! I like the idea that the player can turn sideways but I didn't find myself using it too often. Music definitely fit the aesthetic and I like the stats on the side of the screen that show you clearly how the speed is increasing.

Good job, I liked the game. The controls feel a bit weird, I think you can improve the mapping.

Developer

thank you!!

Great game! It was very fun to play. Loved the idea of turning sideways to dodge and the crouch animation, although I had to turn sound off to play.

Developer(+1)

thank you!! i’m glad you had fun. Sound design certainly isn’t my strong suit. I added the option to turn it off after i started getting annoyed by it myself lol

Cool idea, haven't seen the turn sideways mechanic yet so that was cool, overall nice game with satisfying gameplay.

Developer

thank you!!

I would definetely go as far as to call this a really good entry; I enjoyed the very 'robotic' feel of all of it (well, the music was a little jarring) and the storyline. It was a little tricky for me to get used to the controls; it could just be me, but the squeeze/crouch buttons seemed like they were in unusual spots. I also noticed a bug where if I hold the down arrow for long enough, the floor goes out under me and I can see through the world. Despite these pretty minor pitfalls, I really like this idea and it was executed very well.

May I have a rate as well?

Developer(+1)

thank you so much! aghh i did just notice that bug today. I could have sworn I already addressed it. The pitfalls of having an infinitely moving level lol. I should get to yours! I'm trying to play and rate as many as possible!

Cool and fun game! really difficult but I like how you can hold down and charge the jump and interesting mechanic with the turning sideways.

Developer(+1)

thank you!!

Submitted(+1)

Very fun game! Just took a bit to get used to the jumping (due to the delay) and the amount of actions available, but overall, it was very good!

Developer(+1)

thank you!! i'm glad you enjoyed it!

The music felt super on point (if a bit painful), and I really liked the fact that the crouching animation was just the robot turning into goop.

Developer

lol there is a reason I added a toggle for the music. I can only stand it for so long myself. Goopy robot is best robot. Thank you for playing :)

Sweet game, maybe add different lights to show an increase in difficulty?

Developer(+1)

ooh this is a really good idea! Thank you!!

Submitted(+1)

The animations were great and the squash and jump give me some sense of skill trying to anticipate the laser before it hits me. Pretty fun game

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad you had fun! :)

Pretty fun game. Unfortunately, since there's no downside to crouching and turning, you can just hold ctrl + shift during the entire game, making a lot of the obstacles trivial to avoid. I enjoyed the squash and stretch you added to the various animations though. Felt fun to control when I wasn't abusing the crouch and turn.

Developer

lol I know. I made it to the end of the jam and was like "welp.. crouch and turn is the dominant strat... oh well". There is a bit of a downside since your hit box sticks further forward in that config, but idk if it's super noticeable. Anyways thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I really like the player squeezing before the jump, feels great, the game is quite challenging and the aesthethics remind me of ps1 games, nice entry!

Developer(+1)

thank you!! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

It's hard and I liked it LOL. The squeeze movement is very innovative as Cpt. Coffepot said.

Developer

Thank you!! I'm glad you liked it :D

Submitted(+1)

Though I agree with the points from other commenters, I must say the notion of turning sideways is quite innovative for this style of game. Combining that with crouching and jumping adds a whole new dimension of difficulty to an otherwise straightforward mechanic, and it is a welcome challenge!

Well done, and good luck! :D

Developer

thank you!! I'm glad you liked it!

Fun game.

1, I think the lasers are too fast for when you are just starting.

2, The Music can get a bit annoying sometimes, maybe turning off the music can be a option.

3, Because the game is so fast. I can't read some of the  UI.

Besides these. This makes for a fun runner.

Developer

Thank you for playing and for your feedback! You actually can turn off the music! There is a button on the right side, or you can also use the"m" key. I agree it can get a bit annoying lol. But like you said, hard to read the UI due to speed. I also totally agree about the lasers. I wish I had dialed down the start speed.

Thanks for taking my feedback into consideration.

Good work! It's really pretty styled. I liked the way you described controls also.

As other guys said, there is a delay in control, for example - before the rocket-jump, and it makes control kinda unpredictable. May be you should make obstracles pretty simple for the begining, so player can get used to control.

Developer(+1)

Thank you!! And yeah the delay is actually intentional, but I'm regretting it. The jump actually triggers on button release, and the longer you hold it the higher you jump. I also totally agree that it should have started out a little easier.

Submitted(+1)

Good work! Like the art, controls feel pretty responsive (although I wish it jumped right as I press the spacebar) and the gameplay is easy to understand and fun :). Would recommend adding some more varied obstacles so the gameplay wouldn't get repetitive as fast.

Developer

thank you! I think having the charge to jump maybe wasn’t the most intuitive. If i were to change it i’d make it so it jumps immediately and the longer you hold it the higher you go.

Submitted(+1)

Nice game. takes a little effort to get use to the movement. maybe adjust with art style a little bit. but otherwise quite nice.

Developer

thank you!! Art is definitely not my strong suit. I wish i had had time to make textures for everything. And yeah i think i grew too accustomed to the controls too quickly and didn’t take the time to take a step back and reassess.

Submitted(+1)

the concept is really cool, but the controls where the jump have a delay is kind of weird at the start but will get the hang of it after a while, also it starts really hard i think or i’m just really bad at it. but overall its a great game, good job!

Developer(+1)

i think it’s really hard lol. It was partially intended to be that way, but maybe i should have started it at a lower speed. Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Aweseome... but why too hard lol

Developer

haha i’m so sorryyy. Thank you for playing :)
