Nice story. I included it in my compilation video series of the ‘So Bad It’s Good’ Jam, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Developer

Thank you for choosing and playing The Streak in your channel :) Really appreciated.

I liked the music and the plot, the graphics are also at a high level. I don't know why it's a bad game. It's a solid story that will definitely find its audience.

I am really struggling to find anything bad about this game.  Usually that would be a good thing.  The story is moving and climactic despite being only a few dozen lines of dialogue.  The player interactions are just enough to make you feel complicit and fully invested.  Definitely one of my favourites of the jam, but unfortunately I'm compelled to reflect its lack of badness in my rating.  Sorry!

Hahaha... We're very surprised! This is our first jam and we were sure that, whatever our game was, it was assured to be a "so bad" game. We were much less confident in achieving the "it's good" part of the jam, hahaha.

Now we see that people are playing the game and enjoying it... Your review is fair enough: we were too confident about making bad games! But, in any case, I have to say we are very happy about the response of the players.

unironically good

(whatever happened to 'so bad it's good' though? smh my head)

This is probably the most artistic game I've seen in SBIGJam yet. It's a really nice story, and really triggers the raw human emotion of wanting to win all the time.

Another entry that might be *too* good for this jam, but I really appreciate it nonetheless! Well done!

Ah, this grabbed me. The aesthetic was so perfect. The intro title card to the final cut to black. I was really enjoying this small world and interesting story.

Very well done!

This was a good game, I liked the idea and the art a lot. It seems like whom you meet depends on how much money you have by a certain point? I wonder if there are any interactions I missed... It's very nice though, I agree with the other commenters in that I don't think this is bad in any way, really. Well done!

But this is a good game! From the art to the writing to the narrative. I didn't see anything "so bad" about it.

I've decided to use a standard format for all my feedback this time around. Please excuse me if I come across as overly curt or miss something important about your game. I'm writing these all quite hastily as there are a lot of games in the jam this year and I want to get to all of them!

What I liked

The graphics and style remind me of early 90s point-and-click adventure games and the early-mid 2000s indie imitators.

I hadn't been expecting a narrative, and I was surprised when it came up! It's a masterpiece of minimalist storytelling- yes, it's short, and yes, it's sparse, but everything needed to tell the story is there.

In general it's a polished experience overall.

What I didn't like

The doctor/medicine path seemed a little weird and out of place.

Did I think it was so bad it was good?

No. This is a genuinely good game! It's short and simple but I struggle to find anything bad about it.

My thoughts on the modifier implementation

A narrative based on an "impossible" gambling streak. It's one of the most unique implementations I've seen in this jam, and the whole game is built around it.

Verdict

Not a So Bad It's Good game, but a legitimately nice little indie game.

If you have any questions, comments, queries or concerns, please reply and I'll do my best to get back to you.
