Nice work, it actually feel like a NES game. The background could use some art tho.
Thank you! Yeah, the background art got cut, there was not enough time left :-P
I like it. Great job! =)
Thank you :)
A pretty nice remake of DMC, and an end boss with Vergil is a nice touch. Great work! Keep it up!
Thank you! The Vergil end boss fight seems like an obvious decision, but truth be told I only thought about that 2 days before the deadline :-P
Great adaptation in platform style :)
very nice game! perfect retro charme!
I beat Vergil! Such a great game you really embraced the retro vibe as the levels reminded me of the Megaman games!
Really well made game, Only comment is that I believe the gun was too over powered and I could just spam the gun safely from long range
other than that congratulations on your game!
Thank you very much for your kind words :)
Yeah, the gun is pretty strong. The ranged enemies can still fire at you while spamming it though. However I removed a lot of them from the challenges, because they made them a bit too hard. I left the gun as it is, because I felt like it was pretty fun to use. If I would develop the game further, I would definitely need to nerf it or design the enemies around it!
Very well adapted to the NES appeal! I would I have had this game on my NES times. Very enjoyable!
Thank you very much, really appriciated!
Well in the theme :) I agree with others about Keyboard for all action. using mouse buttons is bitr weird for this kind of game, bur really looks like a nes game ;)
Thank you :) I will keep that in mind for next time.
Pog! Put more levels, add keyboard support for all actions, make air combos possiblele ship it and make millions! Easy steps to get rich :D
Cool, and I just defeated Vergil! Nice works! Maybe can add keyboard keys for attack and shoot? ^_^
Thank you :) Yeah, for some reason I didn't think of adding keyboard keys for those.. I played a couple of games here and then realized that I forgot to give that option. Well, live and learn I guess :-P
Really nice job. I like how you can defy gravity during pistol attack.
btw nice sprites
Thank you! The sprites were my first time doing pixel art and I spent way too much time on it during the jam. It is fun though, will definitely keep on practicing it.
Well done
fun stuff! I really appreciated you playing with gravity during attacks. DMC games are always so fun to do wild stuff and little things like staying airborne while shooting in your game really captured that!
Thanks a lot! Yeah, air combat is super fun in DMC and I wanted it in here as well. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to get in actual air combos - I spent too much time watching Pixel Art tutorials ;)
That's a really good game, I think the art could improve a little bit, but otherwise is a awsome game! If you have the time, could you check my game too?
I loved your game, very creative a worthy devil may cry, it was a task well done, congratulations! If you can do me the honor of evaluating my game I would be very grateful, a big hug.

Thank you very much for the kind words! Of course I checked out your game as well :)
Loved the art style and retro feeling!
Awesome game, truly a SSS experience.
thanks a lot :)
first game that I finished of this game jam with a fight against vergil at the end
Thank you! The Vergil fight was born from the fact that I didn't have more time than to recolor the main character for the boss fight :-P Luckily it fits with the theme.
Hey, I didnt get that far, but it was fun! Rated yours. I would love your feedback on my retro jam entry if you have any time. https://eternalnooblet.itch.io/enter-the-flappy-bird
