Amazing game, I love it. Impressive work.

I'm blown away at what you were able to accomplish in the jam time with this one. It's one of your coolest games yet. Amazing work.

Lovely game!!! I included your game in my Pirate Jam Pre-Jam Skirmish compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

I enjoy the humors and wittiness of Andyman404's games.  Color scheme is on point. It is always a joy to play/experience this indie game developer's work! Keep making delicious games!

Developer

LOL. Thank you, my wife! Thank you for making sure I don't starve or dehydrate while jamming. :)

Wow, that's such an interesting concept! I liked the graphics so much, specially the interiors effect so there's no camera clipping, I appreciated that. Great job all around!

Images look like fun, but I can't seem to get the Mac version running.  I'm on Catalina which might be the problem.  Any ideas?

Developer

Do you see any error messages or anything? What specifically happens when you try to launch it? Have you tried to run it from the Itch Desktop Client? Do both the original jam build and the post-submission camera sensitivity settings build both have the issue?

Unfortunately, I'm still on High Sierra on my 2012 Macbook Pro, and my wife's 2010 iMac is still on Sierra. Both old macs run the game fine though.

I figured it out.  It's a Catalina issue.  If anyone else is having the same problem here are the steps to fix it.

  1. Move the app out of your Downloads Folder
  2. Right click the app and open package contents
  3. Find the executable in Contents/MacOS
  4. Open Terminal
  5. type "chmod +x " and drag the executable into the terminal to paste the path
  6. hit enter
  7. run the game

I'm guessing that this isn't the only jam game with this issue.

Now with that out of the way, GREAT GAME!! WELL DONE!!

This game is actually fantastic. Educational games are often not very gamey or fun, you've really hit a sweet spot here. Well done :)

Vary creative and its always cool when it helps you learn something. If only I knew how to spell.

A little frustrating when they land on top of the building and you cant progress, or can you get on the roof somehow?

Developer

Thanks! The roof thing is a bug. You can press the cheat key (forward slash) to get to the next level.

Nice idea! I liked the game but the gameplay wasn't very comfortable, I think it need some options like mouse sensibility or invert camera axis. The healthbars thing is clever and the game itself very creative just need to be polished a bit more.

Thanks! I ran out of time to make a settings menu. I'll definitely make one when I get a chance to work on a post-jam version of the game.

Neat Idea. A lot of the words were stuck in buildings so it was hard to shoot them or I was in no danger at all because they couldn't shoot me. It would've been nice to be able to shoot through the windows to hit them at points. Also feel like the bullets shouldn't be effected by gravity though.

Great effects for the health bars it was a nice decision.

This game is very fun and very clever! Great choice of words, too. Sometimes it jumps out, and sometimes I can't tell until it's too late. A++

Nice! This could be a good educational game to. Whoops, too*
See what I did there?
