Judge feedback

Judge feedback is anonymous and shown in a random order.

  • I'm curious because it's such an enticing and lovely concept. The cover is breathtaking... But I don't know why- I just freeze because I don't know what the game is trying to achieve. A partner to what end? Is it anything like the Summer Lesson games?
  • The art is beautiful and the concept sounds really interesting! Feedback: The description seems more like something for GameDev than for readers as it's quite technically oriented. Perhaps it might be better to grab people with the storyline and save the technical aspects of what you can do in the game for other sections? I think the tweet text looks good! I think a trailer would really add a lot to up the engagement and get people psyched about the game :)

Developer

Still working on the trailer, need a lot more done before that happens. thank you though!

Love the art. I'm left wondering what makes your game unique among the VN genre. If its the setting, what sets it apart from others? Could we add a call to action for the reader in the tweet?

Developer(+1)

Not so sure how to add call to action in the tweet. I will think about that.

Most VNs the characters are set for you, with mine I will make it as flexible as possible, from appearance, names, to personality. And it's not a one world story, it will have many different worlds sort of like a kingdom hearts situation.

Looks interesting and great artstyle! But I can't really rate as I can't find the pitch tweet :/

Developer(+1)

Finally added it just now. lol Life's been crazy this month with covid/hospital and such.

The Itch page is really well made and your art work is fantastic, really get a good sense of your game and the variety of settings :)

The actual tweet submitted talks more about the fact that you've made an Itch page rather than being a "pitch", so rework that for the day :)

Suggested Tweet Edit:

Cante is a Romantic Visual Novel where you explore The Ash Kingdom: a moldable world of imagination, with magical powers driven by emotions.

Will you take up the challenge of becoming a Ruler, a Traveler or even a Dragon Hunter?

I LOVE your art and game idea!! I can't find your pitch tweet?

Developer(+1)

thanks, lots of drama at home missed that, I will add it.

+ Dreamy art, color schemes.
+ Heart-tugging description and inclusiveness theme.

- But I need more to process how I feel about the game. It's a VN and about life partners, but I still got nothing much to go on towards investing in it.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback. Other people suggested adding summary of the storyline, I will be applying that to my page.

Nice pitch and clear work.. But maybe in twitter you can focus to users than information about itch

thanks so much for the comment/suggestion and fishing up my tweet. Much appreciated.

The pitch itself is really solid. The only thing I would add is a short summary of the general plot since it is a VN, which are heavily story based (though if you're not that far with the game & are still purely on concept stuff it's fine.) There's also a few grammatical errors here and there that may hinder your pitch in the actual contest.

Developer(+1)

Perfect suggestion, I will be applying those.
