  • Great way to implement sound in the game!

How does your game bring our theme, The Error is the Feature, to life?
This game relies on failed API calls (also ones that don't fail). You need to get "Error 404" and "Error 500" in order to finish the game.

Did you include a fake publisher splash screen at the start of your game?

No

Did you use the Audius API in your game?

Yes

How did you use the Audius API in your game?
Streaming music and API calls.

Cool game! Puzzle are clever and the format is perfect for a game jam. Good job! I had fun thank you for that

Hi, thanks for trying my game, I'm glad you liked it! πŸ˜€

Nice! you used Audius too! It seems like a lot of people left that out right? I like your art work it's kinda got old school paper boy vibes to me a little bit. I like the idea of using the phone for the puzzle, I got stumped on the last puzzle though, I couldn't quite connect how things were exactly related.

Thanks for your feedback! Yeah I wanted to integrate Audius somehow in my game because it seemed like a nice challenge, and then while I was playing around in Postman, making API calls to figure out how the Audius API works, the idea for the game came to me. I liked how you used Audius in your game, by the way, and also using it in a "non-browser" game, that's something I wouldn't know how to do.

Regarding the 500 gate, I'll give some clues (I don't wanna spoil it just yet) :
- The 500 error code typically means "internal server error", in my game it was implemented more like a "server is offline" kinda thing
- You can get Status 500 in the game by performing an action with the phone (i provided other clues about ghat in another comment a few days ago)

cool, thanks I will try that out! thanks for playing my game too!

Cool that you have been able to use Audius to watching the game yet, if I can evaluate me too.

Music, art and puzzles keep you hooked, nice job! :]

Sometimes the phone wouldn't pop up, but it wasn't too much of a big deal

Interesting puzzle concept with http request statuses, however the ui was a bit confusing for me: sometimes when I pressed the phone it wouldn’t pop up (mb it just me i used chromium based browsers btw). And in general it’s a bit unclear whether I clicked on something interactive or not. Maybe you should add an outline when you hover an interactive element and/or sound when you interact with it (as you did with locked gates).

+bonus point (using Audius API)

Very catchy cover art drew me in. Interesting puzzle to figure out! I also really dig the GameboyGirl song.

Kinda too confusing to be enjoyable for me tbh. The music streaming didn't work for me either, I've tried with both Firefox and Edge. It's cool you took time to use the Audius API though, and I like the game name as reference to that :)

Developer

Thanks for trying my game! It's strange that the music streaming didn't work, but I guess that can happen when you rely on 3rd party APIs. Hopefully it was just a temporary downtime.

It was fun and really had me thinking. I do feel like I was just pressing random buttons at times but I think it incorporated the theme well!

I got stuck on the 500 gate, not sure if that was intentional, but it was an interesting concept!

Developer

Thanks for trying my game! There is a way to pass that gate too, but it's not by using one of the apps on the phone.

Well I tried clicking everything so not sure what I missed XD

Developer

Sometimes what you need is a long press πŸ˜‰

Took a bit to figure out that the phone would control the response codes. Fun little game. Nicely done!
