Cute game! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum dare 42 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :)
No tutorial, no story (even not a basic one), no explaination, no feedback when we achieve something, no objectives.
It's a shame, because the game itself is pretty nice.
It's a simple platform game, but it plays nicely. Also, the music is quite good. Great job!
What am I supposed to do ?
Your six friends have been captured and you have to rescue them
I thought the game was pretty good. I liked the character designs. I think a big thing it would have benefited from would be more sound effects, for example on getting hurt, jumping on an enemy, collecting the diamonds/ freeing the notes. Also maybe a clear end of game screen, I wasn't sure that I had completed it at the end. Overall, I think it could do with some fleshing out, slightly more complex mechanics, and slightly more well defined/distinct themes for each world.
Nice job :)
Hey! I just wanted to let you know that a video of one of my playthrough/reviews is up and you're a part of it!
Take a look here:
Well, I don't think you can die really and there's little feedback but overall, it's not unfun. I think it could use a bit more polish and maybe a little more challenge. I would have liked the hero's jump sounds to be more musical, they were a bit jarring.
Otherwise, great work!
There isn't a clear objective in the game and there isn't an end as far as I have seen. Good job on the sound and visuals though, fit the vibe of the game!
The music was very nice. The graphics were simplistic, which fit very well. The game play only had the base mechanics in place as far as I could tell. Overall, I enjoyed The Adventures of Do.
Cute, but I wasn't sure what I was meant to be achieving. The discordance of the jump sound was slightly disturbing too!
