Amazing considering its your first real game! Congrats dude, and keep it up. Can't wait to see what you make next :)

A great short game! Really engaging, i found myself actively wanting to get bigger and just destorying everything in my path! At the end when i got that i only destroyed 4/7 clones i realised my mistake cause i'm sure that i couldve destroyed the house at the beginning where one of the clones was hiding! Tempted to play through again and get them all! Really well polished and funny little spin animation. Had loads of fun :)

Thanks so much for playing and the kind words!

I had a lot of fun with this game! The gameplay is super simple but what kept me engaged was seeing my character grow and become more powerful. I loved the first time when I realized that as I grew I could break more objects with my spin attack... which led to more exploration since I could break down trees and rocks. This allowed me to take fights from different angles so as to not have my health instantly deleted by 500 arrows coming into me at once lmao. I see people in the comments saying that the game could use more SFX, and idk if it's just the website acting up but I wasn't getting any sound, so I'd obviously say some sound if there isn't any would be a nice touch. Even without getting any sound though I felt engaged through the whole game. The only tedious thing was moving at a constant speed the whole time. Maybe you could add other upgrades with a shop system or as you grow your move speed also increases. Just a thought. Nice work on this game!

Developer

Thanks so much for the feedback! That feeling of getting more powerful and slicing through hoards of enemies / trees is exactly what I was going for :) Definitely agree re: movement speed, and a shop/upgrades are great suggestions :)

I really like this! Super engaging, some more SFX for killing all those tiny men would be fun though. Great gameplay and I like the details of the wizard following you around like Gman

Developer

Thank you!! Definitely agree re: more SFX :)

I loved the idea, it reminds me of Katamari were you grow and grow until you are able to overcome new challenges. That was really engaging for me. This made me repeat the journey up to 3 times just to confront the wizard! So I believe this is one of the most engaging games I’ve played on this jam.

The story telling of the environment, the wizard and the small text at the beginning was a great idea which made it even more engaging.

Then there is that aspect with massive spawn of game-objects. That was a bummer. Since the last time I was very close to the wizard on my laptop and all those units appeared and screwed my frame-rate very very bad. Perhaps deactivating resources out of the screen would have helped, or using Unity’s burst compiler would have been a great exercise for such a massive amount of units (Don’t know if it would have worked for HTML5 though…)

Anyway, the result is much more interesting than it looks by the cover image. So congratulations and great job!

Developer

Thanks so much for the kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed it! That feeling was what I was going for, and definitely was inspired a bit by Katamari :D

Yeah, at the end I didn't realize until too late that it really hangs a lot in the browser (was relatively fine on my machine) - that's probably biggest disappointment, would have loved to fix that before submitting!

Thanks again for playing and your feedback!

This was fun! I think some more SFX would really help the immersion, as well as upgrading movement speed (maybe tied to the leveling system.)

I think i enjoyed chucking coins way too much haha

Developer

Thanks for playing! I agree with your suggestions as well, may put some more work into it! :)

Really simple gameplay, but when you see yourself grow more and more and destroy things much more easily, it becomes really interesting to see how big you can get and what is behind the trees on the map :)

The only thing I wish was changed is the movement speed - I wanted to explore more, but moving back and forth was really low for me, so I only found 5/7 clones of the wizard :)

Also it would be cool to add some health indicator for enemies, especially the end boss :)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, and I'm happy you enjoyed the growth+exploration aspect! If I had more time I would have definitely added more ways to entice exploration, it was one of my favourite parts as well :)

Agreed re: movement speed and health bar indications - they are actually there but they're not super visible XD

Very fun to play! Let me know if you make any updates to it :)

Notes:

  1. Really liked the spinning attack and animation
  2. Movement, in general, is a little too slow
  3. Dying restarts the whole game which makes me :(

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I definitely agree re: movement and restarting - I'll add those to the backlog :D
