The presentation is excellent. The game looks really nice. Controls are also good and it's fun to play. Now the action-packed gameplay only needs some music! Well done.

looks good, feels good control-wise, platforming can be a little bit slidy but overall a nice game! maybe some music would have added to the atmosphere. I agree with the comment below about checkpoints.

The idea makes a lot of sense, you're a gun and your ammo is your health. The controls feel fine, it's fair that shooting pushes you back, the level design has a couple of flaws (the traps at the beginning feel very "rage game"ish and shooting at soldiers that are on a platform slightly higher than yours requires a lot of wasted ammo), but overall it's fun, it has great visuals and it's a cool concept.

Pretty cool concept, I like the art style and the sfx fits well, adding music may make it more enjoyable, nonetheless, Good Job!

Concept is cool

I really liked the use of ammunition as your health in this game. It makes complete sense! I enjoyed the gameplay, art style and sounds as well. I know it probably sounds silly, but the shot sounds, to me, match perfectly to the weapons. Only nitpick I have is the slog going back up in the air after falling, so checkpoints would be nice. Other than that nice work!

I like your pixel style

It was hard but really fun. Can you rate my game?

I like the varied bg detail and enemies. Lost a little bit of enjoyment because of the way the platforming was handled further into the level.

The game was very good but the controls were a bid weird for me personally but the character controller was very good

Hey, I really enjoyed the game I liked how you implemented the use of the limitation in your game. If you don't mind checking out my submission it would be appreciated if not, it's all good keep it up!

Thank you! I have checked out your game and rated it. 👍

Thank you to everyone who spent their valuable time writing a review of their thoughts about the game. I have read all of your comments, and have taken notes for my next game. <3

As of now, this is the best jam game. 5/5 on everything. One flaw? I wanted a ending....after all that trouble we deserve a reward. Other than that MARVELOUS ENTRY!

I liked the game. The graphics are beautiful and the protagonist is creative. And the map has a lot of stuff too. It's just kind of hard to control in some parts. But congratulations.

I like the art, and the map was surprisingly big for a game made in such a short time!

Some issues:

The default window size is too large for smaller monitors (health bar is almost offscreen), webgl's fullscreen is really good so you should just rely on that for screen size.

The optimal strategy is to never shoot. Seems like an oversight, not sure how to fix that one.

It is a little hard to feel like I am making progress as I walk through the game, since there is no score or time.

The platforming is annoying if you fall, if this was supposed to be the main hurdle in the game, then the platforming difficulty should've steadily increased, and there should be more movement options to keep platforming fresh.

Some future ideas:

If you had enough time, I think the background would look great with parallax!

The enemies having complete differences between them would make combat more strategic.

Overall, good concept! #unity gang

Super-cute and fun. It’s annoying to lose when you can’t shoot anymore but hey, that was the key here.

Fun game :D
Wish it had some music tho.

i like your interpetation of the limitation, and the excution is almost as good

the pixel art is cute and vibrant wich is quite unique.

the jumping is sometimes unresponsive and the platforming parts are longer than they should have been

i found it easier to run through the game instead of fighiting the enemies wich removes the premise of the game

a flawed experience but a good one nonetheless

Literally everything BUT player looks amazing.

Game also needs balancing. Soldiers are basically a joke, and parkour is too hard, lot times i just fell over and needed to repeat lot of hard jumps again.

Finally, I beat the game.

Seriously though, it took me quite a while.

I don't know if it's intentional or not, but I'm pretty sure this feels much like a rage-platformer game.

I find pretty cool the idea of controlling a gun-guy, and I gotta say the graphics look good and smooth. Definitely, it fits the theme and mechanic.

However, I actually have some problems with this game. Nothing too grave unless the raging part is not intentional, While having one basic enemy is good enough for the player to understand the concept of the game, just one single enemy with two recoloured versions, at least for me, make the game seem like it runned out of steam quite quickly.

Other complaint is that sometimes, the character doesn't seem to jump properly. When it jumps, I think the movement is kinda rusty, and I don't really think I could actually describe it with words. It's not THAT bad, but I got stuck in some parts for some times for a long time.

I also find some parts actually unnecesary, even if the game's raging was intentional. There's this little 3 platform part at the right, on the second "level", if I remember correctly. It doesn't make you lose a lot of effort, but it does, and as it is so un-punishing, you just keep repeating that part for over a minute or two straight until you get it right, but as it makes you lose so little progress, I think it's more infuriating than raging (sorry if that doesn't make sense. maybe you could think of how you got more instantly mad over hitting your head with an open cupboard than if you directly broke your skull).

Maybe it's just me, but I find the main character style pretty different from the rest of the game. Of course, it's a gun-guy and not a soldier, but still; I kinda get a feeling like if the protagonist just didn't fit in the game at all.

My last three complaints, are that:

1. The end of the game isn't that exciting or satisfying for a rage game, and you don't even get to another screen. Actually there isn't a title menu, which;  I admit, I always considered a waste of time, but just a title screen with a jpg image of the game with a little "Press any key" would be more than enough for me.

2. The lack of animations for the protagonist. If the protagonist is firing, it just fires, ignoring the bullet belt in the character sprite. I know, animation costs time, but choosing a more modern gun wouldn't use a bullet belt, and would make a more proffesional appearence for the game with almost the same amount of effort. Same as the music, a simple 15 seconds loop would be better than a silent game. Free options include LMMS or even the Chrome Music Lab Song Maker.

3. Enemies turn around just as you step on their platform, or even just turn if you are in their "watching-area" while they shouldn't know you are there because you don't make noice (or if you do, there's no sound effect that says otherwise). This isn't as bad when there are 1 or 2 enemies, but 3 are a real pain to get by.

To close this post with something positive, I actually enjoyed the knockback mechanic when you fire. That's pretty cool and probably my best part of the game. It shows that you actually thought of that small detail, and those details make huge differences, at least from my point of view.

This post was made only with an objective point of view from mine, if I said something that hurt, I apologize. My only intention was to communicate what could make the game better, at least for me, and you probably have some better ideas than mine to make your game even better, so please don't take this as destructive critiscism and instead, I would like you to use it to improve for the better.

You're actually pretty kind for the offert of playing and rating the game's of people who did that to yours. However, I have cancelled all development for the game I was planning to submit because of second thoughts about the original post in which I described what I was doing, and how I actually ended up executing the idea.

Anyway, have a nice day / night! Hope this helps for the better.
