Ayeeeee! Took me a couple more tries but I was able to do it. Strategically used my jumps and reserved enough for the last couple of hops. I got hit or stalled but was able to jump back and recover. Thanks again for letting us play it live, it's more fun the second time around. I can see this being just level one and your frog needs to go through these levels to collect things or find his way home or something. Nothing too new as far as feedback. The trash can be the biggest issue. I would really love the grappling hook or deflector tongue to spice up the gameplay. Great music, great graphics... Keep going with it!

Glad you were able to beat it! Thanks for all the feedback it was super helpful :D

Most definitely!

Very frustrating but I managed to beat it! it is a very pretty game and i love the little squash and stretch animations!

Submitted(+1)

Probably one of the cutest character of the jam! It would be more rewarding adding jump sounds or croaks! Even some juicy trails. Otherwise very nice entry.

The music has no right to bop this hard! I find the game to be a bit too slow, especially the jumping. If you sped everything up a little this game could be so fun!

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed the music!

Submitted(+2)

Loved the artstyle, super cute and really set the atmosphere to the game! Great job!

Pretty fun! There were a few instances where the line seemed like I would clear an object, only for the frog to get caught up. I eventually figured out to give it some space. Visuals were interesting, and the music was catchy. Nice job!

amazing musing

Solid game, the frog felt like it was under jumping compared to the trajectory path, but it's still a fun game with good music and art.

I really like the graphics and the concept! great work. to me the ark trajectory wasnt really accurate enough. it made me loose a bit, and there was no way to see how far i progressed (so i can beat my previous goal)

Developer

Thanks for playing! And yeah, the trajectory prediction needs to be tweaked, as well as the mouse tracking input. If you move your mouse right after clicking it affects your jump path  to line up with the new position rather than what you clicked on,  due to a slight delay making it inconsistent with the prediction unless you keep 100% still. Pretty simple fix, just took a while to identify the cause!

Really well presented, but I found it brutally difficult!

In the end I worked out a technique, but maybe the first few jumps could be a bit more forgiving :D

wow nice game very special i like the music

Really cool game! Great music, gameplay and graphics.

Submitted(+1)

It is a well pollished game! I liked the simple controlls that are somewhat hard to master and the learning curve while playing. Wll done

(+2)

Very cool game, raged at it and almost threw something but fun overall and a banger soundtrack

(+1)

Cute game with banger music. The trash falling made for some unneeded difficulty as some points but overall very good. GGs!

Submitted(+1)

Gud animations. The music got me hyped up like I was Rocky Balboa doing the jogging scene where everyone just joins him

Submitted(+1)

A complete banger of a track.

Submitted(+3)

Really cute! Even though the different pixel sizes are kind of annoying, the art looks simply phenomenal.

The jumps need a lot of work but this is such a beautiful game and the music is amazing. Reviewed live at https://www.twitch.tv/scalphamission.

Made a small tweak to the frog's hitbox, lmk how it feels :)

I don't want you guys to think I'm dogging you. I want to help make this better, but it still feels really bad.

I also made this composite to show the arc in relation to where the frog ends up. I think that's what needs tweaked.  Edit: I just realized! It's possible that the origin of your arc is coming from a point above the frog's head as opposed to the center of his body which would explain why he's always just underneath it.

Developer (3 edits)

That would make sense. We may need to tweak the prediction system rather than the jump itself then so it plays better. It does tend to be accurate with the landing spots on a more horizontal level, but the vertical arc seems to be much less so. Edit: I also noticed that the mouse tracking continues until the frog makes liftoff, which is timed to the animation frame rather than the mouse click, so if you click and then move your mouse it then adjusts the trajectory making the tracing inconsistent with the jump. If you do this fast you can click on one side and quickly move your mouse over to launch yourself backwards. Will have to fix that so it stops tracking on mouse clicks. Noted, thanks sm!

Developer

Ok! Released a patch that fixed the delay issue with the mouse tracking, we believe this is what was causing most issues with inconsistency, so it should hopefully feel more accurate than before! Let me know your thoughts, I have muscle memory at this point so it's harder to judge changes on my own lol.
