How does your game fit the theme?
It has elements of breathing, and will take a few deep breaths to beat

Tried so hard to make it work :( but i love OCTO FROG and seems cool :')
Oh no🙁 did you try downloading it? It sadly doesn’t work on Mac if you are using one. Thanks though 🙂 I might try to create a version that runs better after the jam is over
I am on a Mac sadly :( if you create a web browser version I would love to play it!! :)
love game
Omg! This game is genius! The feel of the game is tweaked to perfection for the bullet hell rhythm game challenge. It reminds me a lot of Patapon with the vibe it gives off. Great job!
Thank you! Hadn’t heard of Patapon but it looks like a really cool game! Did you manage to get to the boss?
There is a boss :O I think I will have to come back to this game at some point
Yeah, with its own boss soundtrack! The attacks aren’t super balanced in the jam version, which makes the boss kinda cheesy. But I’ll probably upload a post jam version that fixes those issues, plus a boss checkpoint :)
Unfortunately, couldn't understand what was meant to happen or what I was trying to achieve. Played in browser only.
Are you playing with sound on? Hold the left mouse button to charge up, then release and tap to the rhythm
Oo I love the rhythm elements to this game, it really makes it pop. The art style and sfx also really made the game a great experience. The only thing I would add would be a small tutorial, I couldn't really figure out how stuff worked at first and how combos work. Nonetheless, really awesome entry!
my favorite game of the jam so far, SO COOL!!!
I really liked this game, Patapon vibes, would love to see more of it.
Okay, so firstly, WOWZA!
Rhythm games are usually hard to get on point, even harder when it's a GameJam & have to fit it under a theme. On top of that deploying a Rhythm game on WebGL (people will say you're crazy) but you're definitely a mad lad. (the mad scientist who isn't afraid to take the risk & the leap)
The first game that I've given a 5/5 on creativity. One of things that really is bad experience for me is that there is no user-boarding in game & you have to figure out stuff by yourself which is frustrating in Jam Games. But this game definitely by-passed that. I picked it up easily even though it's a bit of a unique mechanic so I think it's safe to say that you put some thought into that.
This game is 'Easy to Learn, Hard to Master' type games where you can spend a lot of time mastering it & combo-ing your way to power! The music doesn't get tiring even after a while which is another great thing. The music elevates what is happening on the screen which is 'shooting' enemies ofc.
Simple. Precise. Concise.
Fun. Fresh. Addictive.
Congratulations on the game! :) Wish you all the best with the game!
Thank you for your kind words! I’m glad it was easy to understand, I tried to make it clear how to play, but didn’t have time to add guide prompts. Did you manage to beat it?
Thank you again for playing it!
I did not manage to beat it as that is due to my own skill & attention span issue but I will be surely give it another go!
definitely the best game that i've tried here! it's funny - i played it first without sound, and thought the game was really difficult, i couldn't get a very high streak... until i turned on the sound, and it made it 10x easier xd
the graphics are really cute, and it fits the theme super well!
Thank you! Yeah it’s very hard if you can’t hear the beat, glad you enjoyed it :)
I always liked rhythm games, and I'm shocked how well you mixed it up with 'breathing' - very creative! Technically also well done, good job!
Only advise I can think of - maybe make the frog gain levels faster? Besides, great experience!
Thanks! I was going to make the bigger attacks make enemies drop more xp, but didn’t have time before the deadline. Also I had more enemies spawn faster, but it got a bit too overwhelming for the final boss. Did you reach it?
I’ll probably adjust those things in a post-jam version :)
Thanks for playing!!
oh, so there is final boss? I'm gonna try again :D
Yeah! It’s quite stressful, the simplest way to beat it is to repeatedly use the green patterns, which slows it down. The final attack isn’t as powerful as I wanted it to be, but it can also be useful and it auto-targets the boss
This game has ruined my belief that I have a sense for rhythm. I love it and hate it. Easily spent 2 hours on this, amazing work <3
Hehe, sorry, and thanks!! Did you manage to beat it?
No, but I think I figured out that it's because of my wireless headphones that my beat wasn't on the beat. I'm gonna give it another go later!
I do feel like missing a single beat resetting your combo is pretty harsh, though. Then again, I also enjoy really difficult games.
Ah yeah, a slight delay immediately makes it a lot harder. The windows version also reduces input latency a bit. Was thinking of just making the combo go down a bit instead of reset completely, or nerf the amount of boosts you can get from them and instead put more emphasis on levelup powers. Maybe in a post jam version :)
Amazing game, the game fits well with the theme,
This is probably my fav game so far!
Amazing work!
Thanks!!
Quite nice little game. The music and the rhythm are super engaging. I like the Art and the character. Maybe I would have allowed the player to level up a bit faster in the beginning. Once I discovered that you can learn more pattern I felt even more compelled to try harder to survive. Great game.
