Waow thanks!

Thank you, glad you liked it!

Thanks!!

Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah, I agree there’s a lot of balancing and polishing to be done. I barely managed to finish the full game loop before release, and had to do my complete test after publishing it for the compo. Hopefully it was a bit fun anyway!

this is super fun!!!

Oh no🙁 did you try downloading it? It sadly doesn’t work on Mac if you are using one. Thanks though 🙂 I might try to create a version that runs better after the jam is over

Yeah, with its own boss soundtrack! The attacks aren’t super balanced in the jam version, which makes the boss kinda cheesy. But I’ll probably upload a post jam version that fixes those issues, plus a boss checkpoint :)

Thank you! Hadn’t heard of Patapon but it looks like a really cool game! Did you manage to get to the boss?

Cool game, with a good fit for the theme! The balancing act of either regenerating health or doing more damage was a nice feature.

I accidentally died just because I wanted to see what happened when the no-meter filled, but the boss checkpoint saved me (that checkpoint was a good idea!). I guess it could more fair if your health started to bleed once you reached that level?

The shooting is satisfying, and the game feels polished.

Nice work!!

A super stylish game! Also really enjoying the challenge of getting S in the levels (so far only gotten it on the first and third level though, hehe). It’s got a great amount of polish for a jam game.

It would be nice if there was a level selection, and sometimes the amount of enemies with explosions can make it quite disorienting. But other than that it’s a really good game!

Nice Work!

(1 edit)

An amazingly complete experience! Just the right amount of story for a short game, and really good balance. It was a super enjoyable game!

The only gripes I had was that there wasn’t a clear indicator when a new arrow was reloaded (a flash with a sound effect could be good there?), and the camera moving jarringly by itself when showing things. Other than that it was a perfect interpretation of the gamejam theme.

Great work!

Fun game with nice graphics! Enjoyed getting stronger and beating levels. It would be nice if the camera moved towards where you aimed, but other than that it was very nice :) Great job!

This game got quite tense sometimes when trying to escape the circles! I’m not sure if there’s an end to the game though? I think I walked through every room, but wasn’t able to win. Maybe there could be a timer to show how long you survived?

Are you playing with sound on? Hold the left mouse button to charge up, then release and tap to the rhythm

Thank you! Yeah it’s very hard if you can’t hear the beat, glad you enjoyed it :)

Thank you for your kind words! I’m glad it was easy to understand, I tried to make it clear how to play, but didn’t have time to add guide prompts. Did you manage to beat it?

Thank you again for playing it!

Ah yeah, a slight delay immediately makes it a lot harder. The windows version also reduces input latency a bit. Was thinking of just making the combo go down a bit instead of reset completely, or nerf the amount of boosts you can get from them and instead put more emphasis on levelup powers. Maybe in a post jam version :)

Had fun blasting things in this game! Very charming graphics and sound design, and the game feel is good! I did have problems with getting stuck behind the bird leg a few times, which forced me to start all over. But other than that I enjoyed it a lot! Great work!

Spooky and immersive! I enjoyed my walk with the anglerfish, maybe he enjoyed having someone listen to him for a change too. Nice work with the athmosphere!

Yeah! It’s quite stressful, the simplest way to beat it is to repeatedly use the green patterns, which slows it down. The final attack isn’t as powerful as I wanted it to be, but it can also be useful and it auto-targets the boss

Hehe, sorry, and thanks!! Did you manage to beat it?

Thanks! I was going to make the bigger attacks make enemies drop more xp, but didn’t have time before the deadline. Also I had more enemies spawn faster, but it got a bit too overwhelming for the final boss. Did you reach it?

I’ll probably adjust those things in a post-jam version :)

Thanks for playing!!

Super fun, especially the end part where you could eat everything! The camera is a bit awkward though, it should probably be moved up a bit, so you can see what’s in front of the character. Other than that it was a very satisfying experience! Great work!

I really enjoyed it, fits the theme well! Difficulty was just right, not frustratingly hard or too easy. The berries were a nice extra challenge. The story was cute too :)

They’re all greyed out, but when I launch it in Firefox instead of Chrome it seems to work :) Getting this in the console, https://i.imgur.com/M4ROnWB.png

I seem to be unable to start the game for some reason. I get to the start menu, but can’t click on anything or move around with the keyboard

Neat game!! Took a few tries to defeat my anger issues, but I had fun doing it! The combat feels chunky and satisfying and the various boss enemies kept me engaged througout. The chromatic aberration effect made the names of the bosses a bit hard to read, but that’s a just a small nitpick.

Great work!

This was a fun experience! I really like the animated characters, they’re super charming. The checkpoints were also very convenient, didn’t have to run through huge amounts of the level when you failed a jump.

Maybe the breath bar could be segmented, so it’s easier to switch to specific weights and having more control over it?

Nice work!

Ah! Didn’t realize you could shoot that way, totally agree that’s funny!

Thanks!!

This game feels really good to play! I really like the juicy particle effects and springy animation! Not sure what the right click hold to aim is for though, since you’re always aiming and shooting

Thanks! This solved the issue :)

This hides it correctly, but if you then call native_cursor_set and native_cursor_update, the cursor will remain invisible until you move the mouse

Hello,! Thanks for this extension, it’s really neat!

I’m not sure how to conditionally hide the cursor though. If I try creating a cursor out of an empty sprite, it turns into a black square. I’ve also tried to not run the native_cursor functions and just do window_set_cursor(cr_none);. But then once I make the cursor visible again, it wont show up again unless I move the mouse. And it also occasionally flickers when turning visible again.

Hello! I tried out v1.0.0, and it didn’t seem to work. When I disabled and enabled the extension, it said that there was a unexpected < in the extension.lua file at line 6. So I removed the <const> from both lines and that made it work. I’m running aseprite 1.3-beta6. Maybe it has a different lua version?

haha, wow! You must be the first person who has heard the game over dialogue. finally I can feel justified adding it to the game :)

Thanks for playing! And glad you liked it too :) That’s a good score!

Thanks! I uploaded a post jam version to newgrounds, it has support for shooting with the arrow keys, plus gamepads and touch screens: https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/839388 maybe that will work better :)

Thanks for playing! Might release a more polished version when I get the time
