Did you work in a team?
Just me. Tons of fun. Finished within 6 minutes of the deadline.

Was the resolution a challenge?
The hardest part of the low resolution for me was getting text to look decent.

What did you learn?
I learned how to build a leveling and experience system. I learned how to have a basic inventory and player stats that change as you progress. I also implemented a basic item purchasing system.

Very excellent entry! I've got this one bookmarked, I really want to get into it after the jam ends. Hope you keep working and developing it.

It's got a really great atmosphere, especially the ambient audio. I like how black is the main color you see on screen. Also, the text is great, very legible. I had a lot of dialogue in my game as well and it was tricky getting a font that looked good.

Reminds me of Ultima 2. Know what keys that game used? ALL OF THEM. :)

You've got a lot in this. Very nice work. Not easy to get that many features done in such a short time span.

I love it. The graphics, the audio and the gameplay. You packed so many things into such a small game. Even the tutorial is appreciated.

However, the game is soooo complex that you need a longer time to fully understand it.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah I might’ve gotten carried away with features haha.

"Hello I am your wife, come back when you have all the amulets".  Aah married life ey?

Fun little game with some nice animations and lighting effects.  I agree with others though that there are too many controls to learn, but there's a lot of potential to make this into a really fun game with a lot of depth to it.  It's impressive how much you were able to include with such a short space of time - quests and a tutorial, mutiple enemies and NPCs!  Really cool!

Very interesting indeed. The keys involved are a bit too much for a simple game like this one. But it definitely has potential to be developed further, the art style is very nice.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m open to suggestions on keyboard layout and stuff if you had any thoughts. I feel like it’d be simpler with a game pad for sure. And I could probably just get rid of the magic punch attack. You really only need sword and the 360 attack. I can’t think of a good way to do the potions though.

It's much more than a game... is classic! :D

A good game structure, story, playability, graphic... and a pure adventure!

I like the idea of the game, I had a bit of trouble just learning all the different options for the controls. If there were some way to compress this down into few keys being pressed it would make the game easier in a good way.

Developer

Thanks for feedback. I actually recently fixed a bunch of bugs and I added some new options for the controls. Now rather than requiring the player do everything with one hand, I’ve mapped “J”, “K”, and “L” to the magic and potion attacks. I find it’s much easier to play with 2 hands.

That is great! Spacing it out to two hands makes it a lot easier.

I really like this! I didn't get far (I'm really bad at it) but I'll just try again later, and I'll see if I can finish it :) I accidentally pressed "no" on continue after dying, so now I'm just... dead, I guess hahah. That made me chuckle.

Great atmosphere and sound! I even got a little bit creeped out at some points.

Thanks for the feedback! I have an update coming out soon with a bunch of small tweaks to make it not as hard and also to make the default option for continue to be “yes” haha.

Submitted(+1)

That would be really cool, I'll definitely come back to it!

I pushed up some of those changes to make the game a bit simpler. Also fixed a bug where saving wasn’t working in the browser.
