Did you work in a team?
I did it myself

Was the resolution a challenge?
Definitely, it upscales badly when OpenFL surface limit is also 64x64.

What did you learn?
Cool things I tried:
* Dialogues
* Walls are generated around the floors programatically
* Mobs following other mobs
* Dynamic speed depending on the floor
* Healthbars above heads
* My own gamepad support implementation for HTML5 (damn you, Lime!)

This game is both Silly and Fun. I feel that your pixel art suffers from the blurry canvas aliasing, and arrow-key movement would have been a nice alternative to wsad. Good entry either way!

That was cute!

From the voices, to the tape rewinding, to the total anachronistic tech time machine that this game is... fun and entertaining every step of the way. I think this silly game is my favorite so far.

Love the pencil sequence. Only complaint is that there wasn't 2 minutes of horrible tape-loading noises :)

Developer

Hmm... That's weird, I never experienced the tape loading to hang. But thanks for notifying!

Pretty great! Rewinding the tape with a pencil was pretty funny. I like the whole game within a game deal too.

Had to play this game from the name of it alone! Love the idea, the sound effects and overall humour! A bit rough around the edges but well done!

Developer

Thanks a lot for the feedback!

Haha, Old tape deck software. if only there was an MMO in the commadore days.

The blurring is something you can fix, but it's finicky. You have to use canvas rendering and tell the browser to resize the game.

Developer

Hmm, I will look into it. I use HaxeFlixel so I don't know if I have such low-level access to Lime. Lots of thanks for the suggestion!

Add this to the style tag of your canvas:

image-rendering: -webkit-crisp-edges; image-rendering: -moz-crisp-edges; image-rendering: -o-crisp-edges; image-rendering: crisp-edges; image-rendering: -webkit-optimize-contrast; image-rendering: optimizeSpeed; image-rendering: pixelated;

Actually the best game ever. Though its pretty blurry for some reason

Developer

Thanks, I know about the blur, tried to fix it with no luck.

This game has been fun, I especially liked the voices. They have made me laugh in a good way. the screen is somewhat blurry, the sound of the phone is very nostalgic, I could not reach the end of the dungeon, it is very difficult for me

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the comment! Yeah, I know about the blur, tried to fix that but there's some crazy OpenFL magic going on (ironically, on the desktop target it is still pixelated when upscaled😅)
