Cool little aim trainer experience, reminds me of flash games I would play in the Computer lab in elementary school and the hand-drawn style really works to create the feeling that you're looking into someone's idle (albeit grim) imagination

You watched us play on stream, super cool! Here's the link (and my highscore)
Interesting take on the theme.
That'd be cool to be able to add some furniture to block the shots so that you have to move around to get a different angle.
Nice drawings... And name! ^^
Very satisfying sound effects and an awesome paper aesthetic. Would have loved to see some more context in game for some emotional attachment though as I kind of just felt like a ruthless killer. Despite that though, the game loop was pretty addicting for me, I played till I got a record of 1.9seconds. (which took more than a few tries) Great job on this one!
The game is polished, and works well, although I feel like the biggest critique I have is the lack of an engaging/interesting core gameplay mechanic. I feel like there was a lot of potential here.
But considering it's your first game jam submission it's certainly very impressive especially for a solo effort, and a fun game for what it is.
The art style is definitely the strongest aspect of the game here. It definitely stands out from the other submissions in that regard. Overall a decent submission! I look forward to seeing what you make next!
Love this art style! Super unique! Simple, but fun. I would love to see what more levels would look like with more variables than just the cars. Maybe if you had multiple contacts, or if some of the enemies moved and shot at you or something that would be really interesting. Really really cool stuff though!
Came in for the pencil sketchy style, stayed for the competition. Well done! I got down to 1.35s!
The art style is beautiful :) I would love to see some more things/games with this art style. The sound effects fits really good to your game. Maybe you could add levels and more guns after the jam. :)
Really good game :)
it's absolutely a hand draw art game :)) the cursor is hard to see and why the game is too slow, i mean it like the game being lagging
Very unique art style! And the title makes me laugh lol. Would have liked more levels (maybe even moving targets?). Pretty cool!
I love the name lol it fits so well with the game!
I love the concept, the art, the sound effects, and the replayability.
The one thing I can't see is how this is "connection" themed, please let me know what your take on this was!
Glad you liked the game friend :D
The way I interpreted the theme was slightly strange and took "connection" to mean people you have connections with regards to businesses. I then went along with this line of thinking and came to the idea of an informant or connection within a criminal organization. In the game this person you are have a connection with is called the "contact".
Wow the art looks really nice, good job! The game its simple but fun, i enjoy it a lot.
The aesthetic was sooo good! The idea was also pretty solid but the lack of development made it a bit hard to judge further than that. Still I definetly see potential for more levels and stakes that would make even more fun!
I enjoyed this short little game, janky art included, it gave it a really unique feel and look. Like someone else mentioned I just had trouble seeing the cursor sometimes.
Its a really short game, my record was 1.87 seconds. The art style is really unique, the only thing I dislike was the cursor, it was sometimes hard to see. This top down look remind me of hotline miami.
Wow, I think you have the record now! Congratulations!
Really sorry about the cursor, need to get that fixed ASAP!
Hotline Miami was actually a huge inspiration, glad it came through! If you look closely you'll notice that the chair sprite is actually the same as that from hotline miami, just hand-drawn. :D
Super niche art style and game design! I am impressed by all the different kinds of games I see in game jams and this is definitely one of the most unique ones.
My only suggestion is to mix up the gameplay more with more levels, obstacles, interactable objects, multiple contacts, moving the player during the game, etc. This is a simple idea that you could take very far. You could choose to add a new mechanic in each level and keep adding mechanics, or you could swap out mechanics in each level and make each level very different from the rest. It would be cool to require the player to bounce their bullet off of bouncing walls in order to kill their targets without touching the contact, or a level where you have to go into slow motion because the targets and contact are constantly moving around, or where the player moves in a circle around the targets, etc.
This was originally only going to be a small game jam game that I made to practice my skills and combat my insecurity about my art.
Having heard how much everyone loves the art and the concept of the game has made me want to grow it into so much more!
That being said...
I may or may not have to steal some of your ideas lol
Tomorrow will have a large update with more content, more levels, another game mode (hopefully) and possibly a variety mode if I find the time to implement it! Hope you get a chance to try it and let me know what you think :)
