Really nice juice animations, well done! Was quite fun to play the platforming sections too

Loved that intro/title sequence and the animations for the seeds falling and growing is such as nice touch. The shooting feels impactful and responsive though the platforming did feel a bit slippery with low hops making it feel unfair when some of the flying enemies flew higher than I could reach but the platform I was on was to small to allow for better positioning of myself. Still, love the "story through gameplay" approach and animations. :D

Really nice game. The only shame is not so fit for the theme.I expected I need to shoot to grow a path to end point when I was playing.

The level selection screen is truly a marvel for a GameJam game.

Really enjoyed this game - I appreciate the detail of choosing a planet at the start :)

nice game, wonderful graphics and the concept was really cool, I would prefer to be connected more with the theme, but except from that detail, the game was awesome!

Great job, well done!

Nice platformer! Love the planet selector and the trees growing up effect.
I'm still stuck on the second planet beginning! :$

I like the twist of choosing the planet to go to. I did not at all like how unforgiving it was.

I like the idea, my idea was to make a farm game to save the earth like "Interstellar" but i just made it framing not saving the earth,  cool

+ The animation work in this project is great! It gives so much life to it. My favourites where the popping the crates of seeds that spawn flowers and the planet transition in the menu.

- The platforming was quite frustrating though, I felt it was too floaty and it din't go quite high enough. This was made worse when I was sent back to the start of the level every time I missed a jump.

- The enemies were pushovers as well since I could spam shoot and shoot through walls.

Congrats on the entry! :)

Hey, not bad at all! Let me write down the most honest review I can make after playing the game for 30min.

I do think there are a few points you could improve easily:

  • If you grant ZQSD & WASD controls during the gameplay loop, you should also enable this for the menu, and not only the arrow keys.
  • After a level is completed, you should at least be redirected to the planet you selected before, or to the new one, and not to the beginning of the list.
  • Jump/controls feels a bit floaty to me. Maybe play a bit more with the gravity and forces to make this feel a bit more responsive and pleasant?
  • Shooting isn't feeling right for 3 main reasons:
    • First, it scales with the user's input, meaning that the more you spam, the faster you shoot. I think a defined cooldown within two shots and the ability to keep the button pressed to shoot would be better.
    • Second, the projectiles do not stop through the terrain, so you can peaceful takedown enemies that are behind a wall.
    • Third, the projectiles aren't disabled/destroyed after they went out of screen, so basically you can destroy enemies that are not supposed to be there yet
  • Flying enemies aren't a good idea unless you can shoot to the sky, or it could be good if they go down faster before going to the player. In some edge cases, they aren't possible to kill depending on your position because they fall straight down on your head.
  • Noticed a few bugs with the AI, like some of them are going in a straight line even if there is no more ground under them (the blue boxes one) and like the bullets, some of them are going through the level.

Now, let me say that the theme is adorable. Absolutely cute and satisfying to put plants on a desert planet! That was really well executed.

Really great job with this game --  very nice palette and artwork (my favorite part), the music is great, the mechanics work well and the selection menu looks very professional.   As a heads-up, on Planet 2, I accidentally walked off the right-hand side of the level, fell to a platform off-screen and couldn't get back up -- I had to restart the whole game, so if you plan to update it, you might add a collider over there.  Very minor issue.

Great job!

Nice game!

Totally in the theme and it's fun to, save the world, destroy everything :D.

In world 3, pro move, just spam shoot and run :D.

Bonus point during Kenney jam, playing that kind of nicely made game with some nice juice added that help understanding how with the same graphics, the feeling can be totally different.

Well done!
