  • I can't be the only one who got jump scared by the TV static sound lmao Gameplay was p solid, I like the idea of trying to multitask while keeping your friend entertained. There is so much room to flesh this concept out as well! Maybe different rooms with different things. Imagine going on a dinner date where you might wanna juggle talking, playing on your phone, and eating. Maybe put a ranking system in place to rate the player on how well they balanced their life? More incentive to retry and keep playing! Presentation, while small, is cute still! I wish it was slightly larger, and maybe had a boarder of some kind. Still looked decent, though some things were a bit off. My TV can make some loud ass static noises but the radio cant make anything? To flesh this out, you could make it so emotions were conveyed a bit more. Like maybe after complimenting her, your friend has a few little hearts appear showing you're making good progress, or an angry vain appears when she gets annoyed. Some animations on the characters to convey their current feelings would go a long way. Something holding this game back I would say are the bars showing your emotions. While you did give us a small explanation of what color does what, I still cant seem to find a way to actively adjust and affect them, specifically the red bar on the friend. when it fills, there was no way to permanently lower it again, it would just refill. Was a bit odd but nothing unmanageable, they hardly seemed to effect anything in the grand scheme of things. The game is still p decent, I had some fun. Although, I think it could go a long way if it was fleshed out more in the areas I previously mentioned. The lack of FEELING like I am actually multitasking hurts the games fun factor for me. Still, respect the effort that went into all of this, good job. The highest score I was able to get was 220.

The tv terrified me, the game idea was pretty cool, and I played for a while, expecting an end to it? I'm not sure if there is or isn't, but overall, it was a pretty cool experience.

Thanks for playing. Yeah the whitenoise of the TV is kinda harsh,  it's the experience in the old days, when you have the volume high, and turn the TV on, and it happened to be on a not programmed channel.  I wanted to capture that.  Sorry to scare you :)

neat little game, I ended it with 260
I wasn't entirely sure what all the little bars did, it explained at the start but I soon forgot, and I had trouble understanding how my choices were effecting things. I noticed that her irritation would go up and stay up, even when I thought she was enjoying the radio. I also noticed that my character's romance score stayed the same when hers was very high.
Still, a pretty cool game, and I love the take on the theme!

Haha. Yes, I had literally half an hour to do all the sounds, and reused and tweaked some existing sounds, all while fighting against falling asleep. :)

The white noise sound by the way was meant to be somewhat harsh.  I wanted to mimic the annoying sound of early TV's when they displayed white noise.  Other sounds are not meant to be harsh.  Thanks for commenting and playing the game!

I love me a little time-management game. This was fun, although a bit hard to know which actions had what impact. 

A little more feedback on your choices/actions, and this could be a lot of fun. Great job! :)

Hello, can you "conquer" at the end? like get a kiss. I've just had game over twice.

Hi.  No, you can only try to get a hi-score.  Your score goes up, when both you and her are happy.
Might introduce a conquer in some future, since I like the idea.  But not this version, time was up, and did not think of it :)

This is a game, far outside my comfort zone.  Normally I write shootem'ups, but this time, I stayed close to earth, to explore the realms of a feelings based game.

The idea is that you, as a busy guy, have your friday night planned, but suddenly a friend with possible romance ideas comes over.   You still want to do your stuff, but since she is your friend, and romance may be in the air, you let her in.  But your mind keeps wandering, and it makes her sad.  Stay focused on her being happy, but not so much that you forget your own needs and wishes.  After all if not both of you can be happy together, what is the future looking like.

the game is made in html5 / javascript.  It used minimalistic graphics, with very few colours.  The sounds are synthetic, and reused from a previous game (with some tweaking).   The sounds and the game engine are the parts not done during the Jam. Everything else is.

To play it, use the mouse, and follow the "instructions".
