Challenging game. I included it in my Godot Community Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)
Unfortunately after some gameplay I also had performance issues (Windows 10, so we can blame it ;) ). But I grasped the gameplay and visuals, good work and please keep it up!
It was running really slow (on linux at least) and input was unresponsive (no idea why).
I like the touch of difficulty settings and the consideration of different keyboard layouts, I'm not a fan of forced fullscreen, though.
Thanks for the feedback! The game was developed & tested on Gentoo and I had no issues; one thing to note is that my code is... not exactly as optimized as it could be, and if you're playing with low CPU specs it might not run that well. If you could let me know what distro you're using and what your specs are, I'll do my best to help
Is a amd A10 with R5 graphics, tried running on a desktop too but takes both monitors as the screen wide and the game is placed half on each monitor, I guess there is something weird on the fullscreen part.
I'm not sure how to fix your lag issue, but I can upload a windowed mode executable to fix the fullscreen issues. I'd just program in an F11 shortcut but the game was only made for a jam, so if I were to continue updates for it I'd probably just do the whole thing from scratch to be honest. Thanks again for the feedback!
I will try to check looking at the source in a couple of days and will tell you if I find something.
Go for it, but be forewarned; I really meant it when I said my code wasn't optimized whatsoever. You'll be sure to find... well, let's just say it shouldn't be difficult to find the source of the lag :P
Nice work for a first Godot project, you could already implement quite a few things in 3 days :)
It took me some time to understand the mechanics but that's quite usual in jam games, it's hard to convey how games work when at the prototype level.
Kudos for working on Linux, and great work on the sound effects and music :)
I gotta say i didn't quite understood the goal of the game, it's fun for an first game though, and you did AI. Congrat's.
While a little hard, it's a fun game. Good job.
Love the idea! I could see this being a really fun multiplayer platform arena!
My favorite interpretation so far. I'm also impressed you managed to fit in so many extra features being your first time with Godot. Great work!
