Game Description
You are playing a retro game that has been corrupted by an unknown entity! Stacy is visiting her granny's grave, but granny has haunted the game is causing havoc!
How does your game tie into the theme?
The game inside the game is "haunted" by Stacy's angry granny that secretly follows the player character, creating glitches along the way. The player must control Stacy overcome the obstacles to fix the game from within, even while falling into the traps placed in front of them.

Cool little game. It took me a moment to realize that the graphical glitches were on purpose.
Respect for the amount of level design! The movement didn't "feel" very good. Maybe slowing things down a bit would be an improvement - but this could be a skills issue since I don't play a lot of platformers.
Painting the spikes red on death was an interesting idea.
I think the controls play much better on a controller, they could use more cooking on keyboard to get to feeling like the controller(very very sensitive compared to the controller), thanks for playing

I made a bloody mess :(, that poor child… however it was fun! the speed was good and for the short time I say you did a good job of the precision!
Had a fun time with this one! Great pixel art liked the little detail of the characters hair. Overall controlled fine for the design of the levels. I do think that the jumps need a rework specifically the introduction of a 'Coyote Time' mechanic, a lot of my deaths were caused from accidentally using up my double jump upon leaving a platform and something like that would help.
Otherwise fun game, was able to collect everything. Great work!
Thanks for playing! And thank you for the feedback! There is actually Coyote Time built in, but if you were having issues with it then that tells me it could probably afford to be a bit more generous 😅 (or there's a separate bug, in which case *shocked pikachu face*)
Nice pixel art, nice music/SFX, and it definitely was a precision platformer. I got half of the collectibles!
This might just be my personal taste, but I found 1) the jump to be a little too twitchy and sensitive and 2) the spike hitbox was maybe a touch too aggressive, especially where wall jumps were considered. Could be personal taste?
All in all though, good work. The intro was excellent and I loved the flourished cartridge insertion. Hope to see y'all back for more jams!
Thanks so much for the kind words. We actually prototyped levels with all square assets and we were remarking on the same thing you noticed when we swapped the spike in from the prototype, alas there was no time left to adjust. Always learning, cheers 🍻

I really liked the opening animation, nice work! The controls were pretty solid, it's good to have double jump and dash as well, but I found hitting smaller places very hard. But then again, I'm not very skilled with platformers.
The platforming was really fun and it felt really good. I really liked the green guy with the pompadour and the jays, he was pretty scary. Im sad I never got to see grandma though (but maybe thats because I only got three of the four starbucks pumpkin spiced lattes?) Great submission, 5/5 for fun!
Good game! A nice homage to Celeste and similar games. I liked the unique gameplay obstacles and it was challenging in a good way. The music cut out at the end. I think it just needs to have the Loop checkbox checked. Needs also a re-spawn sound effect. It could also have fit the theme better than just a story-related nuance. Maybe add the granny like slowly following the player behind (kinda like in Celeste). Lastly, the total time at the end should be formatted to display hour (maybe not needed), min, second, and millisecond. Thanks for making it controller friendly.
Nice game! It reminded me of when I used to play Alex Kidd as a child. I really liked the character Stacy, the smoothness of the animations (and controls), and the idea of the Glitch. Immediate and fun!
Thank you for adding controller support! I like the controls, esp how fast you can get through some areas with the dash. It was a bit frustrating at the same time, maybe could benefit from more generous checkpoints or something. Overall really fun!

This is an excellent feeling platformer. Particularly for a game jam. I think the level-design is great, maybe a little hard for a short game. The bounciness of the character really sells the whole thing. The corruption is a cool concept.

Good work on the animations and atmosphere. I would only suggest a slower move speed or wider camera so the player can anticipate their moves a little easier! Nice job overall though.
Nice precision plat-former with clear inspirations. I really like the game and wanted to finish it, but the game crashed when I tried to open the pause menu to lower the music volume. Music is nice nice but gets repetitive, in my opinion. Very nice work anyways, Loved it !

I am terrible at platformers and couldn't get very far. I did like the polish of the character controller (with the bounce and wall jump, etc) though it felt floaty and would have preferred some drag in the air to better land where I wanted.
Not in the game, but your itch page is pretty hard to read with the dark purple background and black font.
whoops thanks for letting me know, didn't realize the font was black my dark mode addon was making it a different color.
Very good precision platformer, with pretty vicious spots sometimes.

What's better than a death counter to tell you how bad you are at platformers? Permanent gore covering the entire level!
The game feels very polished, and the visuals and music do a good job of making it feel haunted. Unfortunately as I mentioned I'm terrible at platformers so I only got to level 3.
