Been saving this one for the end as a treat! I mean... I was watching the models and animations come together in the Discord and really loved what I saw. The SFX were quite nice, although occasionally there were little unexpected details (like the big bad creepy-crawly doll's positional audio was often misleading), but they didn't really detract.
I would say the only two meaningful pieces of feedback I have interestingly I think apply to my own game: invisible sprint cooldowns feel better with some panting SFX to let you know you are restoring stamina and have refilled your meter. And the map maybe feels a little too empty aside from dolls to possess? Some more interactables or decorations could help flesh things out. It's a jam though, so it's a small note.
Very, very impressive entry. I will echo a few other comments from vpeter1119 and say this is a worthy candidate to go "full game" if your team is interested. Great job!
Rarely play horror games myself but decided to give this one a shot and honestly really liked it. It leans more into the environmental and ambient horror which I prefer overall. I did end up screaming my lungs out when a doll randomly spawned and screamed at me. Got a concerned message from my roommate for that one.
It is impressive what your team has made in the days of the jam. Only complaint is the default audio is a bit loud, having settings to adjust that in game would be great. And the camera sensitivity is way to high by default had to basically reduce it real low to make it comfortable to play.
Had a great time with this one, will be coming back if it gets an update!
Glad that you liked it! We were aiming to make the horror environmental and immersive so it's good to see it was.
We will be able to add an audio slider in an update. As for sensitivity, do you feel like you were still able to adjust to your preferred sensitivity easily?
We are planning on working on an update so any feedback is appreciated!
For the sensitivity, I was able to get it within a good range but from what I recall I had the settings fairly low basically one notch away from the lowest value was where it got comfortable.
don't worry I'm the one who put that in there and it got me a few times while testing as well
Okay, finally gathered enough strength to play this (in broad daylight) and man, and even though I'm not a fan or the genre, it's so cool! The graphics and audio are top-notch, can't imagine how you did this in nine days. If you spend some weeks on this after the jam, you could amp up the narration, add some more animations and sell this for real.
Hey Peter!
Thank you so much for trying out the game and your inspiring words :D
I hope you give it another ride when we update it!
Take care :3
Tried it last night and oh boy, what a treat. Great atmosphere and sounds. Died countless times, but I'm pretty new at horror games.
This game reminded me of Slenderman, but with the talismans instead of the drawings. The puppet and dolls designs look pretty good (as in creepy).
Overall, I really enjoyed it and will definitely play it again, to learn more about the story.
Hey there, thank you so much for the feedback, we're happy that you liked it! :D
We hope you comeback to download the fixed version after the Jam and finish the adventure :3
Ps: love ur nickname
The art is very impressive, and me playing this at 12:00AM made the game even creepier. I really like the atmosphere set here. Once, the main doll got me from behind and I wasn't looking so I was a bit spooked LOL.
I know part of the immersion was not having any UI, but not knowing some of the cooldowns and stamina stuff was a bit detrimental to qol. The game ran well for me, and I didn't notice any lag spikes or bugs/clipping myself.
Also, a small sound thing is that it plays sprint even if I let go of sprint early. The footsteps were well synced though. The enemy doll also constantly made that howl sound, and I felt it got a bit repetitive after some time. Maybe a bit of reverb on some of the sounds would have made it fill the space and make it feel like a larger area than it was. I also felt like the attack sfx wasn't that satisfying. I know it was the sound dev's first jam, and it's very impressive, especially considering the genre. That being said, in games like this sound is everything and will play a huge role in immersion, and I think there is some room for improvement here.
The whole area felt like a maze, and finding talismans within the maze gives slenderman vibes to me. The map was large, but maybe too large. I really like the use of the theme in this, and the biggest standout was all the 3d models and amazing atmosphere.
Overall, great entry and it's a must play for this jam, but there are also a few notable areas of improvement.
Hey there!
Thank you for your detailed feedback, it will help a lot with the improvements, mostly your comment regarding the reverb, as it was coded into the Bus, so at this point, I'm not sure if there was a bug on the code or some sounds were just routed wrong and will investigate it :)
I do agree with the importance of sound in the genre, and in fact to many 1sts for the caliber of the project (1st Jam, Using Godot 4, using GitHub, making a 3d game(did work with a friend on UE4, but very different scope), as commented before, there was a bit of an issue (totally my fault) hours before delivery, which was bummer and had a big impact on the final delivery sound wise, but it would be better than crashes and lag (I assumed).
Glad you had scary fun! Hope you do play it when we launch the first fix!
Take care :3
Don't get me wrong, the audio that made it in was really good. I felt that providing some constructive feedback would help in the long run. Looking forward to seeing your next games!
Not at all brother, apologies if my reply felt a bit defensive (not english native ahaha)
Loved your feedback, super constructive and good details!
The explanation was more to give context and kinda of kudos to my teammates as they were amazing in helping me get to know the work tools better :)
The art in this game was AMAZING! Made me jump the first time I saw the doll amalgamation. The gameplay reminded me of Slender - reminded me of getting scared in my room in middle school. I couldnt get into the dolls properly though, maybe I was doing it wrong? I got caught a few times because of that. Overall fantastic submission!

Glad you enjoyed the art! A few people have mentioned it's not clear how long the cooldown on the possession is. Do you think this was the problem for you or was it something else?
Very well made! It's easy to die in the beginning but with some practice you can learn how to properly sneak around. The atmosphere and artwork are great and the enemy behaviours interplay very well with the mechanics.
I did happen upon an interesting pathing bug where the dolls and even the puppet would get stuck running into walls. I'm not sure how it came about yet but there should be a recording of the stream when I played it that might help.
Yeah that was the first time I seen that issue happen its good thing you have it recorded so we can fix it later
OMG that was creepy AF. I couldn't get the mouse commands to work. The controller did work, but the buttons weren't where the instructions said they'd be. Was that part of the lie to them wildcard? I admit I had to just stopped playing it because I was too freaked out so well done on that score.
We were aiming for a creepy atmosphere so that's good to hear! Could you let us know which controller you used? It'd help us debug this in a future update
I was using an XBox Controller.
Really unoptimized. The first 5 minutes of playing was fine and then the frames started dropping real fast. I dont think its due to my pc because it has good specs. Also the sound is really late. For example when i stop running it play the run sound for another 3-4 seconds or so. The game let me down. I thought it would be the best game made, but no. Im not saying that my game is better, infact yours is and a lot better.
Admittely, I expected as much since it's my first 3D game but I think updating this project will help me more about optimisation in the future. So it's something to work on
just so you know im not hating. I only now see how hatefull it is.
Hey, thank you for playing and your feedback! :)
Unfortunately there were some bugs with quite few sounds (not only the running) due to a change I tried to make, and with the little time left for delivery when this occurred it was the best I could do, surely going to improve on future iteration.
Really good visuals and fun. I thought the lighting and music worked well. Enjoyed the enemies. On windows, I did get stuck and couldn't move in a room and had to restart, but overall fantastic.
Thanks for the feedback! Do you remember where you got stuck? This would something we could look to fixing in a future update.
Nice work! Really cool mechanic and creepiness! I really appreciate the gamepad and additional options, they're a huge help! Attacking feel funky, I think it was probably almost 10 captures before I actually connected. Also, a sprint meter would be nice. I assume it refills slowly but it felt like it took forever.
Glad you enjoyed it! We've had a few comments on the attack and it's something to improve in the future. Helping the player know about their sprint is definitely something to work on in a future update
leaving a comment to come back to this when the windows download is updated, still though, nice work!

Thanks for the interest. We've uploaded a new zip with an exe now.
Thanks for the reminder!
I love the environmental and ambient horror this game has. It exudes charm. Runs great and has a lot of polish with the settings and game pad options. That crawling thing was a great model too. I do wish its attack animation was a bit further away from the camera, as its a little hard to tell what happens when you die.
The possession mechanic is very well built! I love the color shift and noise when possessing a doll.
I can definitely see the comparison to the old slenderman game, with some added mechanics like the possession. Nice work!
When I unzipped, the Windows file, it extracted project files.
Update: Nailed the horror and doll theme atmosphere. Wish the big doll did a bit more for the jump scare like opening its mouth or stared freakingly or something. I collected about 4 medallions, fought some dolls and possessed them to go around the big doll, and got captured twice. The game dropped quite a few frames for me here and there. Did you use occlusion culling or other performance optimization tricks?
There should be a new zip with the exe in it now. Thanks for letting us know.
Hello thanks for telling us. Should be fixed now
