Great brain twister. The different animals really added a lot of variety and I like how some of them actually interacted with each other. The art was also great, had me smiling at the title screen. Only thing I'd wish for was maybe an undo or reset button. Other than that, this was def a fav entry. Congrats!!!
Really awesome game! Absolutely love this take on the theme, and it's just a really nice, stylish and intuitive puzzler overall. Great job!
Incredible entry, I loved this!
I think that the core idea of the puzzle is clever - ride animals to reach the exit - and perfectly fits the "parasite" theme. But on top of that, you also built a solid and satisfying gameplay! More specifically, the levels are greatly designed, and the new mechanics are always well introduced, in a way that doesn't overwhelm the player with options, but at the same time leaves them free to reason and think. This is an amazing work of game design, good job and congrats!
Speaking of negative aspects... I GOT STUCK :( I managed to reach the level you see in the attached screenshot (of which I don't know the number), and when the gorilla was facing the hedge, I had this kind of intrusive though:
...what if I was able to break the hedge?
So I pressed SPACE, and I broke the game instead, LOL. No movement, no restarting, everything froze.
I know I've been pretty stupid and greedy, 'cause I had the solution in my mind and I could have just flown to the exit. I could have played the game, instead of beta-testing it, you know. But well, at least I hope that this bug report could be useful to you.
Besides all my failures, I can assure you that I had a lot of fun with your game, so thanks and congrats for the amazing submission! As soon as I'm free for another half hour (which is approximately the time that required me to reach the cursed level), I'll definitely retry it! ^^"
I dug this one. Nice snappy puzzle mechanics. I especially liked the really minimal tutorial as the new mechanics were uncovered.
this is really cool! I like that different animals do different things. you did a great job thinking out each puzzle. and the cow is very cute.
Very cool puzzle game. It reminds me of the sliding on ice puzzles from Pokemon but more intricate and more bloody. I got a little stumped by the first puzzle with the rhino, but I really want to see the rest of the levels, so I’m going back in.
I apologize for the difficulty of the first rhino puzzle. As I've commented elsewhere, I wish I would have had some friends playtest the game, that level was inadvertently too hard too soon in the game. It is designed to teach you a technique to utilizing the rhino, but (without spoiling too much) after you figure out the first big step of the puzzle, you end up running all over with the rhino until you get to a spot that you can exit. Other than that, I think most of the later levels are decently well balanced for your progression through the game... perhaps with the exception of the cow chaos level. It was originally intended to be a joke but I ended up throwing it in there. Thanks for playing!
I had a lot of fun playing this! The puzzles are great and its very well paced.
I really loved this one. Very unique take on the theme and the puzzles were very intuitive. Adding special abilities to each type of animal was a great idea. It was a bit gorier than I was expecting but having the option to play a bloodless version was a great inclusion. Fantastic job overall!
I really like this game, and the concept overall! I've talked about the oxpecker before because of where I work, and always thought of it as somewhat unique and interesting. This game takes what makes the bird different, and turns it into a high-quality puzzle game with interesting mechanics! Makes you wonder what other unique animals you can base a game on...
Good job. Enjoyed how the game unfolded and the head scratching puzzles. Also good theme interpretation.
This was super neat! Great job introducing the mechanics and putting together some pretty tricky levels. I liked that all of the animals had a different movement patterns and effects on the others. I also always appreciate a game that teaches you about something new from the real world.
Great job!
Clever puzzles and well-thought-out mechanics. Having each new level introducing a new mechanic is a great way to teach the player without a wordy tutorial. Well done!
I think this is the highest rating I've given a game so far! First off, you do a great job of introducing the controls to the player. I was able to get right into enjoying the game without trying to figure out how stuff works. I Really don't have much for criticism here. Keep up the great work!
Congrats on finishing the jam! Some of these puzzles are really hard. Nice work.
Congrats on your first GWJ entry! It was great. I really loved the mechanics that you added to the game. There was a lot of variety. I enjoyed solving each of the puzzles and loved the ending. Very cute. You also had a very unique take on the theme, which I think is really nice. Great job!!
