Great music and a nice aesthetic throughout.

Love that you call this Tween node the game - I used tweens everywhere too this jam!

For the sake of my own sanity, I do not want to believe that a single person made this in a week. It's too awesome.

Excellent graphics and game atmosphere. It's an isometric view platformer game that encourages playing and discovering what happens. Bravo!

thank you so much!!

Wow!

Love it. Think this is my favorite game so far. The difficulty is high but with the checkpoints think it is just about right. Like the graphics and music goes very well with the feel of the game.

Two minor critiques for the game:

1. Game got a little laggy in the last area on the web browser

2. The jumping/platform detection seemed a little off at times felt like I was falling through the platforms - maybe make the hit area little bigger?

But again love the game, thank you for submitting!

Developer

thank you! Yeah I think I see my bug for the moving platforms, as for just hit boxes it gets a little tricky because when I started being too generous with those the disappearing platforms got unfair, like they would detect you when you weren’t on the sprite. I actually wonder if the answer is a sharper contrast on the platforms top vs side? I wonder if those colors being too close gives the illusion of being safe when it was missed . Thank you so much for playing and helping/advice!

Here’s my devlog for sunseeker! https://youtu.be/LmyKjXPVVyU?si=b1Q9tW0HciN3Z74l

It was fun, but I’m exhausted

Beautifully done - great game!

Very pretty game! A metroidvania perhaps? How many upgrades were there?

It got pretty hard with the bounce pads, but played very well. Smooth controls, not too hard to make the jumps.

Would have loved some more SFX and volume control for the music.

One thing that I saw a talk about from the makers of INSIDE and LIMBO was about the state of the world on respawn. It's not trivial, but one thing that would have improved my patience would have been if the moving platforms would be in a good position when I respawn to minimize wait time.

Very cool entry anyway, impressive!

Developer

that resetting platforms is a great idea and would 100% be easy to implement.

One thing I didn’t get to in my devlog about it was this little trick I would do for moving platforms. Every moving platform section was mandatory that I start with a moving platform, that way I knew it would sync. So let’s say the section was  a couple disappearing platforms into a moving one. The moving one wouldn’t be guaranteed to be their depending on the players leave time, which just means doing some coding for triggers, but starting with a moving plat was perfect.

This is all kind of unrelated, but I was excited stumbling into that design choice :)

Beautiful. Visuals and sounds work so well together, made me feel feelings :) Still listening to the music as I write this.

A bit hard to get used to perspective at start, but the shadow definitely helps. And looking at how I'm pulled by moving platforms in mid-air I suspect that collider is actually the shadow (or on the same level) and character sprite is just visual?

Great platformer controller, cool skills progression and great levels that work well it it all and open up as you gain skills. Moving platforms work flawlessly.

Very nice pixel art and animations - clear and snappy. Everything that needs has audio-visual feedback. Great polish.

In the last level at first I went straight to the arch, didn't see anything there and thought "Wow, that looks cool. What a shame that it's just a side prop and not everyone will see it...". What a welcome surprise at the end :)

Not sure if there is a visual difference between static tiles and moving tiles (like with permanent and breaking ones) - with such fast gameplay and fast-moving platform it would be nice sometimes to immediately see if I will be pushed somewhere and need to get ready for that or if I have a moment to breathe :)

Definitely a highlight of this jam.

Good luck and thanks for the game!

THANK YOU SO MUCH! Yeah so the shadow is always your real position and the tween node is just doing some animation work to give the illusion of jumping and I put the camera as a child of that sprite. I could go either way with moving the player while jumped, and I did for the beginning. That first level the normal moving  platforms won’t move you when jumping but during the disappearing moving platform section I felt it more fair to keep you on.

Oh and yeah the disappearing platforms are colored differently, but it can be somewhat hard to see since every level has a canvas modulate to give it a unique feel. It would have been smart to maybe change the base tile slightly so you could better tell.

So happy you enjoyed the music, that was Sunday a few hours before everything was due. Audio is always my last minute add and it makes it so stressful, I’m just relieved people weren’t annoyed with it especially with how short it loops

thanks again, really makes all the stress of game jams worth it when people enjoy it <3

Good game, awesome visual

Really polished game! I love how every new area comes with its own ideas that all fit the theme. Music, graphics, atmosphere are all spot on.

My only problem with it is that due to the isometric view, the controls are a tiny bit frustrating, but hey I had fun all the way to the end ^^

Great game, awesome gfx andf juice! I wish the character would rotate graphically in all directions tho!

This was an awesome experience, favorite game of the jam so far. Only complaint is that the platforms yeeted me twice, but thats really minor. Honestly, if there was some kind of "collecting memory fragments" elemt to this where there was a story to uncover or something along those lines i could see myself enjoying this as a full little indie platformer. The music does a looot of lifting for me here.

Developer

100% agree with everything you said. the way moving platforms work has always had some strange bug, but I had to move on. And my vision was to have secret areas with basically notes or something side to collect, but I of course ran out of time. There is one secret to find involving some back tracking, but I won't spoil it. Also thanks for the music compliment, I'm a musician first, but I always neglect that for game jams. I wrote something in the final hour for this game, I hate that its not a full piece, but since audio is a category I knew something is way better than nothing. Really appreciate the kind words, I'm beat after this week and it means a lot to hear <3

i find everything in this game beautiful, the controls feel nice, you already now how this work, very intuitive, and the music is delightful. It's refreshing and chill. I love it!

oh damn thank you! It means a lot :)
