The enemies are strong. I keep dying. But for "real first try" with Godot, impressive

Developer

I agree, it may be abit to much damage to fast. Gonna have to tweak the numbers later on. Thanks mate

Good job on adding procedural generated dungeons during the jam time-frame! That's impressive!

I also liked your take on the theme, but I wish it was a bit more fleshed out. for example, I think it would have been nice to make the enemies start a little bit weaker and then give them more growth levels rather that just having them grow once. All and all though it was a nice game! Great job!

Developer

I agree, damage definitely needs to scale up over time, starting at lower damage than it currently is on.

I like my dungeons to be procedural generated, but the RNG is harsh with me, there's always a rat nearby to kill me fast. Nice pixel art also.

Developer

Yeah I need to fix the enemy generation to not ever spawn close to the player. If I continue this project later that is on my todolist.

Nice game. I loved the procedural generated levels!

Developer

Thank you

I can’t get past the Main Menu because I can’t find out which button the “Press Button” button is

Developer

it's ui_accept defaults, so enter in this case. Sorry about that will add it to the games page layer today.

Enter is actually one of the buttons I have tried, but it does not work. At least in the HTML version. I can’t play the Linux version because the .pck file is missing.

Developer (1 edit)

Will fix the linux version, but it's strange that the web doesn't work for you, It does for me. I tried it now, you gotta focus the game canvas with the mouse first. When it's got focus pressing enter works.

“gotta focus the game canvas with the mouse first” How did I miss this? I already tried pressing the enter key After i tried clicking on the start button, when i was still trying to find out for myself how to start the game. How does this only start working Now? Maybe because “Settings” was actually the first option I tried clicking instead of “Start”. Why is there a Settings Button that doesn’t do anything?

Developer

The focus is on the start menu option. I was gonna add music as well as settings for sound levels. I should have removed the settings menu before publishing, but forgot to do so. Maybe you accidentally pressed the S key?

Submitted

I didn’t accidentally press the S key. The first thing I wanted to do is to intentionally change settings. More experienced Video Game players like me are conditioned to find unexpected useful things in the Game Settings.

Developer

Ok then I'm out of ideas, could be an engine bug perhaps, because I have not programmed it to change menu position if none of the bindings are pressed.

Submitted

I didn’t go to the Settings button without pressing a key. I only went to the settings button Because i pressed the S key. You hopefully don’t need to worry about that engine bug, because I have personally never experienced it.

The light scheme is nice, the sprites are beautiful and the control works very well.

I think the game are little hard at the begining becase some times we don't have time to react to enemy atack. Anyway, if you play it for a little while, the game become easier.

Congrats man, it's a realy good game!

Agree I need to fix the enemy spawning so no enemies are close to the player. Thanks for the feedback

Nice game! Some more polish to the movement and perhaps making the enemies less aggressive for a few seconds on start of level would make it a bit more fair

Developer

I agree, in my random generation code, I tried to spawn enemies far from the player, falling back to only spawning them closer if necessary. There is a min amount of enemies spawned per level, I could have had a grace period for a few seconds until they can attack. Thanks for the feedback

Nice idea. Just lacking a bit of polish.

Developer

I agree, didn't have enough time to do any real polish unfortunately
