Thank you so much for the great video! Watched it all the way through -
1. Sorry about the long loading times! I am blessed with fast internet so I didn't realize how long the loading could take. I should have added a bar.
2. I should have also made the customer orders bigger. A few people have recommended this.
3. Sorry about the "your score is 0" bug. Caused by a line of code in the wrong place.
4. The dice roll cause it looks cool.
It's always super epic to watch someone play your game - so I just wanted to thank you again for making the vid!
Nice use of a factory sim style for the theme. Didn't take long to get familiar with what to do. Good job!
Hello there, fellow THREE.js user! I thought that fps bar looked familiar.
Speaking of which, framerate was pretty bad on my pc, around 15-20 fps. I didn't play this on a very high-end pc, but I still wonder if there's some room for optimization there. Maybe even something like bundling up with webpack would help a little? Otherwise, maybe allow the user to tone down post-processing / advanced materials a bit.
Apart from that, the game is pretty fun and I like the creative interpretation of the theme. Got a score of 19, which I guess isn't great, but hey, I'm somewhat proud of it! A few minor UX improvements I would suggest:
- make the customer order numbers bigger, physically at least. Right now, it's hard to keep track of everything that's going on and it always took me a while to decipher an order, which is not something I want to spend time on in this sort of game.
- make it possible to click and drag dice to minimize the number of interactions needed.
Okay, enough of my rambling, gotta fetch some lunch. This is a neat little game, and I can totally imagine filling a few boring hours with it, well done!
Hello LukasWho!
There isn't much room for optimization - it's merely that the visual effects are quite expensive. I wanted to add performance settings but no time. If I went ahead with this I'd add options to disable MeshPhysicalMaterials, SSAO, and Bloom. I don't think webpack would help with anything but loading times.
Good ideas for UX improvements. Dragging is defo good and i could have probably made those customer orders a little bigger.
Thank you so much for the detailed feedback!
A very solid game, with very pretty graphics!
The randomness can make things a bit unfair - there are times where I had four orders that were literally impossible to make with the dice I had (e.g. four orders above 18 when all my dice were 1-3) and I just had to take the L from the bar filling up a fifth time. There were also some orders of numbers above 24... which is impossible to do with four dice.
I love this cyberpunk cafe aesthetic!
Thank you! I appreciate that. I think the randomness could perhaps be resolved by having the dice come in a fixed order - but that takes the fun out of the unpredictability. A smarter engine could tailor the dice and orders to match well - ah the things I could have done with more time. Each stick has a maximum of five dice allowed - so orders go up to 30.
It looks confusing at first but you did good job on presentation. Thats a good mixing of cooking game. Very smart and creative. An advice : It can be better to add "dice amount" of supplies to sushi instead of adding direct dice. Maybe you can continue to improve your game ^^ Great work !
Really nice concept! Took me a couple of tries before understanding how it worked (basically had to restart to read the tutorial again) but once I got it it was fun!
What game engine did you use btw?
Really love the idea! The graphics and presentation were very enjoyable too. Really cool game!
Love the concept! For whatever reason this remind me of overcooked lmao. There were a few bugs, but I still enjoyed the game regardless.
Hello hello! That was great! :D
Here's some feedback so you can improve it in the future:
- picking up dice and clicking on something else is kind of glitchy, are there any background processes running that are slowing down your build?
- Adding a way to remove a dice from a stick would be good
- The tutorial at the beginning seemed to move a little too fast
- SUPER creative idea and play on the words xD I love it!
Hope this helps! :D
