Cool idea! Unfortunately, the controls didn't work in fullscreen mode for me and the screen was partly off screen in window mode.
Yeah seems like we're hearing about all sorts of issues in the WebGL build... Unfortunate that we can't fix them now, but the game should run properly with the Windows version if you're still interested in trying it!
Cool and thanks for the tutorial! I like tower defense and this is a great concept. Sometimes it was a bit hard to see the points tho. (WebGL)
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed! Ideally we would have been able to polish the game a bit more and have better visual clarity. Just ran short on time :(
Awesome tutorial and great concept. I would love to see where you take this after the jam if you continue working on it.
Thanks! We're certainly considering it!
this was a nice take on the theme, Im yet to actually see a tower defense game in jam so it gave a nice break from all the rougelikes and puzzle games ive played so far. Good game!
Thats great to see! Thank you :)
That was neat, I just felt like there are some technical issues. I think the camera being offset to the side made it weird. Other than that with some balancing it'll be a great tower defence game :)
We were trying an isometric view for the camera, but in hindsight, something closer to a top-down would have been better here. Thanks for rating!
That is one creative take on the theme, I like that there are several ways the dice are used. I only wish there were more thing to do while you wait to have enough currency for the next purchase.
Thank you for the feedback! Glad you liked it :)
Very interesting idea, needs some further polishing, but I loved that you had time to even make a very detailed tutorial. Congrats!
Thanks! I managed to put that together near the last bit before succumbing to exhaustion :P
Was a bit annoying cuz we basically had to hack together a modified version of the main game logic cuz there was a lot of interacting parts. But a good intro is always important if the mechanics aren't inherently obvious
The concept is nice and can be interesting, but the controls are to janky to play it for a extended duration,
Also, the strength of the enemy is hard to read sometimes.
We definitely wanted to improve the controls a bit, and we planned to make each side of the dice a different color so it was easier to read. Thanks for playing!
Great concept, but could use better interfaces since it's hard to tell the current power of a tower you have purchased. Die changing faces after they are settled also feels a bit jarring (seeing 6 turns in 1 is rage-inducing!)
We wanted to make the dice have different colors for each side, and dim all of the sides except for the value facing up. As for the dice changing faces after rolling, we tried to get the dice to snap to the face that was facing up, but didn't have enough time to make it work. Thank you for playing! :)
Love the Idea and the Tutorial is really well made. Sadly I couldn't get the game to change to Fullscreen but everything else was really nice.
Great Work!
I'm not sure why the game couldn't fullscreen. I'll try to figure out the issue and keep that in mind for the future, but I'm glad you liked it!
Cool game and take on the idea , nice models and graphics ! nice entry !!
Thank you!
The game has a very unique mechanic to it. Dice rolling to try and get towers is very fun! The camera is a bit small though, and it would be better if it was a bit wider to see some of the dice in the very left. The powering mechanic to counter certain enemies is rarely used because the game just creates so many enemies that you're better off making more towers. There's also not much enemy variety, each enemy is too similar to each other. Still, great game!
Yeah we fell short on time and weren't able to make the game auto-adjust based off the aspect ratio, so the dice on the sides ended up being hidden for some people. It would be cool to have some sort of pattern for the waves (maybe make the zombies more likely to have the same number?). Also, we had more models/animations made, but didn't have enough time to implement them in the game.
Easy to understand and fun to play. Just the controls could be a little better. Still really nice game.
Thanks for playing, and glad you enjoyed it!
Fun to play! Kind of hard to control at first, sometimes the die gets deleted but the tower doesn't spawn... But its still a pretty fun game
Oh, we didn't get the time to put as much into the tutorial as we would have liked, but rerolling dice will remove any socketed dice being used for purchases. You need to roll both dice for the purchase in one go!
Like the concept. Dice are kind of finicky. Every time you roll it locks in a side that wasn't what it landed on. Would like to see this fleshed out more. Good job.
Yeah, we had trouble detecting the sides from the roll, so we had to randomize and set them after the fact. Glad you liked it!
Great concept. Bit too awkward controls to be playable. The camera feels off.
The WebGL version has some strange issues with dragging dice, and the camera is slightly off from it's intended scale. The Windows version fixes this, but I do agree the drag controls could be more responsive
I can't get the dice to drag in during the tutorial
We found out the tutorial in the WebGL version doesn't work on some browsers. Try it on a different browser or download it if you can! :)
