The aesthetic is cool, nice and atmospheric. I enjoyed weaving my way through the levels. Not seen anything like it this jam! The thing which killed me was panic bouncing off the white ghosts when they're out of view, tricky
Well done
If you have time check out my game :)
Glad you liked it!
Interesting concept, I was not expecting a horror game (until your disclaimer of it not being a horror game 100% of course)! A well executed game with so many levels. Good job!
Would love if you can check out my game too. Thanks!
Very interesting, definitely had a very creepy vibe. Like the "Game Over" voice!
This is where I got it from https://opengameart.org/content/demon-voice-game-over
Even funnier is that they called their profile "freestockimages"
Anyways, glad you liked the game!
Peculiar game...
At first I didn't know how to tell apart fake doors, got to room 41. Then I read about how they make noise so I was able to beat it. Awesome game! I really love the artstyle and sound design, fantastic stuff
Glad you liked it!
I'll preface this by saying your game showed up in my queue and horror games are not my cup of tea. However, I like the style and the presentation. There's not much to it, but it is very solidly executed. I think it could use something to clarify how you're getting hurt, I died in a room with ghosts in it but now that I see comments talking about fake doors I may have been trying to use a fake door? Overall, well done on the jam entry!
Fake doors make weird sounds, soooo if you didn't hear any weird sounds from the door, then:
A: you were probably just accidentaly colliding with a ghost
or
B: godot is sucking at porting the game to html
edit: just went through the game and yes, the doors do make sounds. So if you couldn't hear any sounds, then that must be a bug within godot, or you had your volume on low.
Got to level 36, got a spook when I arrived in a room and the was a shadow figure in front of me. I think I’d add a way to regenerate some health, because all of my damage was taken from fake door which deal 25 damage. All around clean little game, good job!
I originally wanted to add chests with potions inside of them, but didn't have enough time to add them, so I just decreased the damage from 50 to 25. Also, glad you liked the game!
Died in room 69 to a Ghost Mushroom; well made game! Would like to see what you could do to it with more rooms, puzzles, enemies, etc! Nice foundation!
The art style is great and the Game feels very solid. But there is not much of a challenge, It gets repeitive. it's a pretty nice game.
I wanted to add puzzles (there's even a variable in the game to start a puzzle), but I had no time to actually make one.
great art style!
gj on this! 😁
Go support the artist https://opengameart.org/content/mini-dungeon-tileset. They did an awesome job and without their tileset, I probably wouldn't be able to actually work on the game. (I spend more time finding a colour pallete and drawing than coding)
I like the idea of a horror game in a gamejam, and it kinda made my sleep deprived self jump a little with the scp guys. Though after dying multiple times after a fake door killed me in room 91 i called it quits. I would've made the limit like 30
Thanks. Glad you liked it!
The game feels very bland, get's repetitive quickly... The art however is very nice.
