Solid game and fun concept. defiantly unique. I enjoyed the six-shooter idea which random die numbers, but would have liked to have this concept utilized more. i often found myself just shooting until i happened to hit the enemy with the right dice; that was usually faster then trying to manipulate my barrel to get a particular dice for a certain enemy. The power ups were meaningless and could be removed, they don't add anything and feel out of place.

The collision detection needed work or at least some extra checks. Half way through the first game I found a way to wall climb by accident and got myself easily on top of the arena wall. Fun in it's own right to keep blasting the queen from my safe perch, but probably shouldn't be possible.

This was a great experience

So, first of all, the idea of dice with a vendetta against chess pieces? Wonderful! I also loved the concept of enemies that are weak against certain dice rolls, and the concept of killing the queen was a really smart objective based on the world you've created. I also thought the shooting felt very satisfying.

My main feedback would be to simplify. You have dice and chess pieces...and then also fire, ice and lightning powers? The latter were cool, but they felt like they belonged to a different game. If you were making changes, I would lose those powers in the future, or connect the powers to the dice (maybe you activate you power and your barrel becomes all sixes or something)

Basically, very fun little story, a very satisfying gunshot, and maybe too many ideas. Great work!

I wish my computer could run this better! I did manage to kill the queen once, after a few tries. It was fun trying to keep the other pieces off of you while trying to chase down the queen and try to get the right bullet in the chamber. It was a nice combination of skill and strategy. Very nice job!

Very good job for a 48h jam ! Move are very smooth and concept is smart ! Well done !

I like the concept of having chess pieces attack you because you can immediately know most of what they can do. The animations and movement also felt very smooth. Good job!

I like the concept and the proper 3D arena. The only issues I had were with presentation: I couldn't figure out which rolls damaged each piece until I read the manual.

You can hold down TAB to see an ingame UI that shows each enemy's weakness, though I agree that it could be explained better. Thank you for playing.

Cool little game !! Fun way to use the theme too , the effects are cool for the special skills , Good work all in all for 48 hours

The only thing that is really missing is indicating which dice should be shot at which enemies (similar to the queen). Besides that I had fun, the game plays nice, controls are crisp. Good job!

Developer(+2)

Thank you! We figured that if every piece had an indicator similar to the Queen, the UI would be too cluttered. You can hold down TAB to see an ingame UI that shows every enemy's weakness (odd, even, less than 3 etc). I'm glad you enjoyed the game.

Like that bullet trails. Like the powers a lot. Enjoyed that I could start thinking about strategies.A bit difficult to remember the weaknesses of each enemy and hence about what I can handle with each reload.

A screen with all the info on how it works would have helped a lot.Noticed that enemies cannot reach all places.Spawn points tend to surprise me. One second there is nobody behind me, a second later I am hit.

However, really great fun game! I truly enjoyed it :D

I'm glad you enjoyed it, thank you for the nice comment. As for enemy weaknesses, you can hold TAB to see an ingame UI to show the dice that each enemy type can be hit with.

Enemies can generally follow you anywhere, but you're right, sometimes they have trouble reaching certain places. Again, thank you for the feedback.

Interesting game, I liked it! You should definitely check out our version of a gun with a dice)

Nice game and creative. But it may be better with some feedback when killing enemies .

Character controls, camera, and game feel could use some more polish and fine tuning but the premise on the whole is very fun and enjoyable! I like the ability to strategically queue up shots and kill a bunch of enemies at once!

Game is pretty cool. Killing enemies here feels so good with that trail and those particles. I would just also make it so that you see some kind of damage ui when you hit (especially for those special abilities). Like just a little number that pops up. Overall though, very cool!

This is a really nice breath of fresh air, as I haven't seen many first person shooter games in this jam. It's done well and I enjoyed playing it.

Great game!

Here's my feedback:

  • I like the revolver thingy at the top.
  • I like the idea Special die skills are very satisfying to use and are animated quite well. It would have been probably cooler if they were actually the primary weapon, for example: 1 > lightning, 2 > fireball, etc. Then you throw the dice and see what you get.
  • Sometimes (eg. when you move backwards) it's not clear who killed you, maybe don't allow enemies that you can't see to kill you.
  • FOV should be larger.
  • Rules should probably be somehow shown inside the game. They are a bit too hard to remember for a quick web game.

Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback. Enemies killing you from behind and adjusting fov are things that we just didn't have time to fix. Having an ingame minimap to show enemies and a settings menu for adjusting fov, aim speed etc were sadly scrapped. At one point we just prioritized certain features to finish the game before the deadline. As for remembering the rules, you can hold down TAB to see an ingame UI that shows you the rule for each chess piece. Again, thank you for your detailed comment.

Really fun shooter and unique use of the theme! This game is well thought-out due to the weakness of each piece. The huge chess pieces following me around were also really trippy lol

very very good game. I didn't expect to find a fps. It's really fun and addictive.

Submitted(+3)

Liked the idea that different chess pieces have different weaknesses, makes you think about every shot you take

Fun to play. Like the idea of shooting dice bullets with the revolver.
