Character controls, camera, and game feel could use some more polish and fine tuning but the premise on the whole is very fun and enjoyable! I like the ability to strategically queue up shots and kill a bunch of enemies at once!
Game is pretty cool. Killing enemies here feels so good with that trail and those particles. I would just also make it so that you see some kind of damage ui when you hit (especially for those special abilities). Like just a little number that pops up. Overall though, very cool!
This is a really nice breath of fresh air, as I haven't seen many first person shooter games in this jam. It's done well and I enjoyed playing it.
Great game!
Here's my feedback:
Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback. Enemies killing you from behind and adjusting fov are things that we just didn't have time to fix. Having an ingame minimap to show enemies and a settings menu for adjusting fov, aim speed etc were sadly scrapped. At one point we just prioritized certain features to finish the game before the deadline. As for remembering the rules, you can hold down TAB to see an ingame UI that shows you the rule for each chess piece. Again, thank you for your detailed comment.
Really fun shooter and unique use of the theme! This game is well thought-out due to the weakness of each piece. The huge chess pieces following me around were also really trippy lol
very very good game. I didn't expect to find a fps. It's really fun and addictive.
Liked the idea that different chess pieces have different weaknesses, makes you think about every shot you take
Fun to play. Like the idea of shooting dice bullets with the revolver.
This is a very good game
Very cool game, incredible that you guys created a fps in such a short time :)
I like it
Goofily fun theme and the gun reloading and dice action are nice. It was hard to tell if there was much difference in the movement patterns of the different pieces?
Thanks for the nice comments. There is differences like rook cannot move diagonally and horses try to jump around. Could have made them more highlighted though :)
Makes sense! I think putting a chess board grid on the ground would have made that much more obvious!
Really cool idea and fun to play. If you're looking to expand on it I would suggest adding either noise to enemies or a minimap as you have no indication if an enemy is sneaking up on you right now.
It's a good game! I like the randomized special attacks and it's really fun jumping around while shooting at the incoming horde. The main thing I wish it had was some music.
To be honest i wasnt excepting a FPS within this theme , but it was pretty fun and challenging, its too bad it didnt had music to maintain the action, but overall nice job in the time frame.
This is such a fun game!! very complex rules yet not too confusing + this is awesomely well-made
Liked the concept of certain dices doing damage to certain enemies. Also liked the electricity ability when it would connect with multiple enemies chaining them. The lack of models is a downside but still fun.
I like how the different enemies can only be damaged by certain dice rolls. It does make for some frustrating times when you are chasing the Queen while reloading over and over trying to roll the right numbers.
I have never seen an FPS in a game jam! Impressive! However, the art looks a little bland.
