Great music and sound effects. Simple and decently fun, though the delay on the cannons firing made it pretty tough. A little light on the theme - basically just showing the random generator.

I like the music! Just wish I could hear it while playing.

theres definetly something there, cool concept of having to align yourself in a 90° angle to your enemys

Submitted(+1)

Fun concept, I really like the idea behind the character controller.

Is an interesting concept and the game looks really good and polished. For some reason the BGM stops and the SFX are too loud, also after you play for some time you start to mix where is right and left. Maybe add something so you can distinguish more easily.
Anyway, good job!

Developer

Ah I needed more time to balance the audio levels for different speakers.  And yes the BGM fades out once the dice start rolling.  After the game jam finishes I'll make updates to give players more control of the audio.

Thank you for checking out Pirate Bay!

I love pirate stuff! The opening cutscene thing really set the vibe

Awesome, I'm glad you liked it :)

Fun concept and a creative take on the theme. I thought the dice in the middle looked really nice. I don't think it's necessarily fair to say you made the music when it is a well known song

Developer (2 edits)

I'm glad you enjoyed the game.

The opening riff is a cover of a well known song, but it was recorded and played by a friend.

The main song that the riff transitions to was made, played, and recorded from scratch by another friend.

Please don't make claims that the music was stolen - my friends worked very hard on making music for this game.

Hi SweetAppleGames. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply that the music was stolen. I honestly didn't listen to the music enough after the opening riff so it wasn't fair for me to make that comment. My bad :/

Developer

No worries, I hope I didn't sound too harsh either.   I appreciate that you took the time to checkout the game :)

Great take on the theme. I really enjoyed the mechanic where the dice would randomly bring in stuff into an empty world. The sea shantys in the backround, aswell as the Sounddesign really added to the whole pirate theme. What I would add would be a stronger indicator for when your onw ship gets hit.

Nevertheless a fun game :)

Developer

Thank you!  I totally agree about the indicator for ships being hit -- I needed more time but this is an important point I will focus on when I start working on the full game.

I like random elements such as ships and chests being brought into the game - however, it is repetitive.
The music didn't loop for me and the yellow borders seem a little bit too boring.
Shooting only through right or left makes you think of positioning, which is pretty cool.

Developer (2 edits)

Ahh, hope you still had some fun playing -- the music is not supposed to loop.  I plan to eventually make this a full game with deeper themes and iterate on the music decisions.

I'm glad you thought sailing and positioning the boat on the waves was pretty cool!

Nice game! kinda repetitive and difiicult, but the art was pretty and great music!

Props on makin it 3d!
