Really fun and clever concept! The game requires you to think constantly and strategically about what dice to put where since your movement and attacks are inherently restricted and the dice themselves are scarce. It was perhaps a little fast paced for me, but I'm sure I'll get better at it the more I play!
This game is great. Reminds me of a game from my childhood
I guess 50k is enough...
The main mechanic was interesting but it was very cumbersome to reload them. I guess it's part of the chaotic fun though. It was quite easy to claim a good spot to defend because the AI just tried to come straight at you, even if their way was blocked.
Really didn't like how the dice you were dragging instantly disappeared if you drag it to the edge of the screen. I guess it was some despawning logic to clear stuff that is thrown off screen but it should ignore when dragging em. Lost so many dice this way while quickly trying to throw them to a slot while at the same time keeping an eye on my pawn and the enemies.
The frenzy upgrade would have been way more fun or it didn't leave all your stuff empty after it ended. I guess it's supposed to be just a last effort and hopefully clearing the board. The bomb was just 100 times better at doing so and not leaving you vulnerable afterwards.
The music was bangin', but I guess it wasn't made during the jam at least. But it did fit the action pretty well. The sounds effects did their job well too and there was a "proper" amount of screen shake etc to spice things up. I think in the pixel art department the player/enemy pawns could have had the same black outline instead of the colored one, made them kinda stick out from everything else. And some things like text and board tiles had this second lighter border which made them look like just scaling artifacts. I don't think the pixel ratio was fully 1:1 everywhere either. Just small things that would make it look so much better (in my opinion at least).
But that's about it, good job! 👍
Wow, thanks for the long review! All very good criticism!
And 50k is a lot of points... I hope that means you had fun haha!
Really like this game! Found it quite difficult to keep up with slotting dice where I wanted to. Maybe would be handy if time slowed when dice was selected or another way to slot them?
But yeah, great concept and music - Nice one!
Love the general idea, was able to get to 12k points. I do have a problem with the screen getting cluttered by an ungodly amount of low-value dice really quick. Also I wish there was a faster way to use a die than drag'n'drop - it takes too long and requires a player to shift attention all the time. Loved the powerups, loved the presentation. Good job!
Thanks! I think some sort of hotkey for each slot would def solve that problem. Maybe if I were to expand on the idea that would be a guaranteed feature!
Such a fun idea! very addicting game!
At first I thought it was going to be like a turn system, where after every input I make, enemies would move. But when the pawns started collapsing at me, I really felt the rush to start attacking everywhere. Really good work, very enjoyable
Glad you enjoyed it! Guess it is easy to mistake for a turn-based game lol
cool game
I love the visuals and idea.Good job!
by the way you could play and rated my game?
Done! Glad you enjoyed it
Such a great idea. I felt that managing the slots was a little cumbersome. Really fun and graphics are great! Perfect score from me.
Thank you so much! Means so much that you enjoyed the game!
Oh man, this rocks! I love limited resources games and this really uses dice as a clever medium for it. Having to multitask position with resources on the right direction and having them loaded at all times is great. There's a LOT of dice on screen at points, maybe making them translucent when there are players/enemies overlapping/near it could make that more user-friendly.
Excellent work!
Thank you so much for the great comment! I agree that there has to be some way to deal with the floods of dice that end up filling your screen. Good idea for a solution!
Very fun, challenging game, very hectic! The only thing I think might have been nice is a spot where the dice go after you kill an enemy so that they don't cover the board after you go on a killing spree. Great work!
Thank you! That is definitely something to consider. There are definitely moments where there is tones of dice on your screen lol
very fun and very stressful! (in a good wa)
Thank you! Glad its the good kind of stress haha
Game awesomely made, the gameplay is smooth and fun. The shooting is satisfying, the power up is cool! The enemy is really challenging. Great work!
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed the challenge!
Gun go pew
This is incredibly polished and well made. The gameplay is frantic and stressful in the best way in addition to being extremely unique.
Thank you so much for the high praise! We are so glad you enjoyed the game!
Pretty fun but very panic inducing as well.
Thanks! I hope we struck the right balance
LOVE THIS ! Amazing! Would love if you can rate my game!
Done! Glad you enjoyed it!
One of those arcade games where you lose track of time and end up playing for hours, good job :)
I found myself wasting time just playing it during the Jam lol. Thanks for the positive comments!
Wow, this a really creative idea, with a great presentation. I liked it quite a lot.
Thank you so much!
