Scratch for the W! I saw your game while browsing scratch to see if anyone else from there had joined this jam. Great to see more scratchers than I thought (I'm probably biased here but still) The game itself is enjoyable and has a charming artstyle to it!

Developer

Super neat! Thank you for the review. If you're interested, here are some other Scratchers that joined: @-kippie-, @XaosKing, @BagelBytes, and @Phantom_Bowtie.

Submitted

Awesome! I'll check them out!

I like the art style and sound effects, especially the shop keeper! But I feel like the game doesn't ramp up quickly enough, so it's easier to get bored. I'd recommend making it more action packed in the beginning!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your review! The first levels are meant to be more of tutorial levels, since I've had issues in the past with the game mechanics being hard to understand. I wanted to prioritize teaching the player how everything works, which explains how the beginning levels might feel a little slow.

I like the cozy game aesthetic, it also reminds me of Nubby’s number factory a little. It’s very cohesive and well-done!

Submitted

Charming game! The aesthetics were great, there was a "fuzzy" vibe coming out of it. I think though the game would've greatly benefitted from just being sped up a lot. There is a lot of downtime and waiting going on otherwise with how slowly it starts off. Enjoyed my time with it otherwise!

Developer

Hey, thanks for reviewing and glad you enjoyed my crazy art style for this one. The reason the game might feel a little slow at the beginning is because I was trying to solve a problem I've had in the past: a lack of tutorial. I wanted to really make sure I explained all the game mechanics to the player, since I feel like a lot of jam submissions, while novel and grand in concept, don't let me experience the true potential of the game due to some confusion about the controls and the gameplay.

I was so sad when the blue guy offered me items I could not afford. Jokes aside, fun game and great aesthetic

Really fun take on a tower defense game, and the art and music is great!

I love the art! Looks very colourful and fun! All the wiggly animations really add to the silly feel of the game. Love the sound effects for the salesman, sounds very funny. Worvin took my money from the field! I’m charmed by the music. I did not realize I had to place the itesm in the shopping phase at first lol. It got a tad repetitive at times, but was still pretty enjoyable from the whimsy. Overall great game!

Developer

Thank you for the kind review! I really appreciate you playing and rating the game :)

Really simple but effective and fun! Love the sounds. Its it made in Scratch? to me that would be even more impressive than making it in one of the big boy engines

Developer(+1)

You guessed it! It can be a little difficult building the game from the ground up, though, since there is no premade code or assets ready to use, which means I had to start from nothing. Thank you for your review :D

the art style is really charming and the audio is funny!

i loved the art style and the music was cool! it was a really fun vibe!

This is actually amazing! The music fits very well and the voice lines are pretty funny! The derpy art style is really great too! This is another one one my favorites so far, and it was made in scratch! I love the scratch btw. totally underrated game engine.

Developer

Hey, @Pentahedron, what an awesome surprise to see you here! I have been following you on Scratch for quite some time now, and it's amazing to hear you enjoyed the game :)

Submitted

Hey that's actually really cool!

Great premise, artwork, sound, and mechanics. Even if it wasn't that complex, it was super enjoyable! There was a bug where the final boss was instakilled by one of my bombs at the start, but otherwise it was very polished.

Developer

Wow! That is a very strong bomb. I'll take a lot once the jam is completed, thanks for bringing that to my attention :)

I love Worvin! This game was fun. It was had a really nice amount of content to unlock and the art was actually quite charming IMO. Had a fun time playing, thanks for submitting!

Developer

Haha, glad to hear you liked Worvin! He snuck into the game when I was taking a coding break, and I still can't figure out what he is. Jellyfish? Levitating cloud creature? Mysterious blob? Who knows. Anyway, thanks for playing and reviewing my game, means a lot! 😁

This was such a great game, I loved the art style and music as well. It would just be nicer if the coins at the end of a level would pick themselves up, that way there wouldn't be any waste of coins.Other than that, great job!

Submitted

Wow, very simple but creative mechanics, I love that

Submitted

good job! man i love roguelikes, I wanted to use my items in the middle of the round, i didnt think is was going to be that hard at the end hahaha

Developer

Yes, it does get exponentially harder! Thank you for playing the game, it means a lot :)

Fun game with nice and charming art. The game moves a little slow at first, maybe if there was less delay after shooting it would feel faster. The upgrades are quite fun however some more information about them would be useful (no idea what slime does for example). Overall i think its a fun game, well done!

Developer(+1)

Hey, thanks for playing! In the project description you will find a full list of the uses of every upgrade and item, maybe that will help.

Submitted

Very interesting! I really enjoyed the art and game loop, progression might be a little slow for my preference but overall, solid !

Developer

Thanks for playing the game! I tried to add something new that unlocked each level - a shop, new enemies, new upgrades, etc. to ensure the player would never get too bored. Hope that helped the game feel more interesting :D
