Unique and interesting game, and just fun to see what happens to your planets. One thing I would have liked is some better way to see the information about your planets, for example clicking on a planet to see the info without hovering, or a way to show the current life on all planets.
Time to play some Kerbal Space Program again ^^
1. Spawn so many planets that everything turns to chaos
2. Notice that some of the planets are so gravitationally screwed by your actions that they're now stuck together, but in perfect life range
3. Stick a hundred more planets to the clump
4. Profit
That was pretty fun! There's just something cosmically satisfying about spawning a bunch of planets and watching their orbits gradually spiral out of control.
Original concept, pretty interesting game. I wish there was a reason not to spam planets and some sort of trajectory prediction. Also delete planets that flew off-screen, cause the game starts to lag pretty fast :) Great effort & Good luck in your future projects!
Also, if you find time to play & rate my game it will be much appreciated!
got the planets to flock together so I got over 4 life/sec. hehe. it might be a good idea to be able to preview planet trajectories, so you can have an idea of which distance you need to the sun.
Its a cool simulation game, still, good job!
really interesting mechanic, fun to play around with
Very interesting game! Interested to know how you did your gravity mechanics as my game had to have some gravity calculations as well, albeit at a much easier scale. Love the simulation
Thank you!
the gravity simulation part is very straightforward, in godot c# it looks something like this:
https://gist.github.com/gabtorok/a13c8522c4b17f8fe020403dd82e62ba
Bit crude, but it's fast enough, basically it's high-school physics: to calculate the acceleration for each object I calculate how every other object's gravity affects them.
Thanks for sharing! I didn’t think you’d have to use a 3D vector for what appears to be a 2D plane but that makes a lot of sense now. You definitely did this a lot cleaner than me haha. My spaghetti code barely had everything working lol
Very interesting idea.
I really liked the space theme and how you could see all the data on the different planets - very cool (although it was difficult to see the data with the planets moving so fast). the visuals are great, althoughthe trails look a bit strange when they clip infront of planets. I loved playing around with the platens, I tried to give an earth like planet a moon but accidentally kicked it out the solar system and cause mass speciecide. Great game, well done!
This game create great screen shots of chaos. Super fun seeing everything move together and eventually collide together. was able to barely get over 2 per second.
loove a good cosmic theme
Very Unique! I love it
So sweet!
Pretty cool
I liked it. The graphics and the simulation is actually good
I will be glad if you check out my game too.
