This is certainly very interesting. First off I ADORE the art style, the classical music medley is pretty nice too. Also appreciate how the characters bop to the beat. There is an interesting game loop here but the lack of feedback made it really difficult for me to fully grasp. Would like to see what you could do with this idea beyond the 96 hours though! (Also that voice acting was way too professional what)

Love the art and music, but it is missing some kind of feedback for the player. Really creative tho!

very nice art but lacks audio visual feedback or any kind of visual cues to anything. Is anything even doing anything, I would never know. Only the programmer can see it in console debug messages I guess.

i really like the art and mood! but unfortunately i cannot figure out how to play it, even after reading the description and everything. i understand the controls, but not what is correct / wrong, when i lose and why...

Really impressive and fun! The artwork is awesome, the dubbing, the music... incredible job!

Nice take on the theme! Like many other commenters, I really enjoyed the art. However, I could have used a little more hand-holding at the start to learn how to play the game. Walls of text don't really help me conceptualize things; something short and concise in context would have been a lot better!

I love the art! And I was NOT prepared for this game to be fully voice-acted in Italian!!!

How clever! It took me a couple of tries to realize the specifics of the timing, but I had no trouble after that. The gameplay is quite engaging. The art and character design is exceptionally charming! Great work!

The art, music and sound are amazing! I feel that I didn't make the most of the gameplay -- I didn't understand properly the charge system. Looking forward to seeing where you folks take this game!

This is the first time I see the theme interpreted as musical scales, very creative concept but I think more instructions would be helpful learning to play it. I was very confused on how the mechanic worked and still am but a short tutorial would be fire.

The art for this game is so wonderful!! I did get a big confused by the charging but the presentation and vibes of this game are amazing. I'd definitely recommend adding more post jam bc this has lots of potential :)

It's fun but I was a bit confuse with the charge system

Still a good experience, congrats to the team!

art style of this game is amazing.

Gameplay is interesting but I can't feel the impact of attack and block.

Charge gauge is a bit confuse.

Fun game, but also very difficult. Those parts were he attacks with notes instead of scales is so hard. Also the first game with voice acting so far. Very cool.

The art of this was so jaw droppingly amazing!! I also love the audio and music throughout the whole game!! It also has such unique gameplay, tying in rhythm and fighting through music. Would love to see more development on this game in the future!!

Thank you so much for playing!! A few of our team members expressed interest in polishing and expanding this game after the jam. I actually designed three magical girl protagonists...a band for Sonata in the future?

Aaa that's so exciting!! I look forward to seeing your concept arts come to life in future expansions :D

I love the presentation and the concept of this! Something about it makes me feel nostalgic for handheld consoles. The actual rhythm mechanic was pretty difficult for me – I couldn’t really tell when I was on/off beat, but realizing that you and your opponent were taking turns helped with figuring out at least when the red/blue switch occurs.

Yooooo the art's amazing! Also didn't expect y'all to have voice acting as well, and it definitely added to the experience! Very cool mechanics as well :)

Thank you!! NGL best part of the jam was listening to Calvin's manic google translated italian

(I feel vindicated in going to Google Translate and translating the dialogue to Italian to see if it matched the voiceover. Great work guys.)

I'm Italian, it is absolutely perfect ahahah

Art style and use of the theme are really nice. I tried a few times to work it out, but couldn't get it. I think the biggest issue was just a lack of feedback to know if I was on beat, taking damage, blocking etc

Submitted(+1)

Really cool style, really love the art! Interesting concept for sure and would love to see like a tutorial level that breaks down the fight before the full 'fight' to get into the flow of it :D

What a cool art style!! The music & voice acting is also amazing!! Also a cool take on the theme! I am not sure if I am winning after each round, but I also might just be bad at rhythm games rip
