solid game

Very intense experience! Loved it

The game has really good atmosphere. For me the reaction time to bulets was too short, but I still enjoyed it.

Nice twist! And the gameplay is good too. I'm not good at bullet hell game so I couldn't go far, but this is nice game!

As many others said, I think seeing threats only when in the player's light area makes the game way too hard :(

However, I really like the concept, bullet hells being rare during jams (I think) and fitting the theme perfectly here, the music being really good and stressful (which is kinda coherent with being hunted by a giant fish 300 meters under water). And the fish's design is really good too !

If you post an easier version after the jam, I'd love to play it again and finally see the end !

Wow. Did not expect that. however, it was hard. But good. I like it!

Wow, I didn't expect a game jam submission to give me such a profound feeling of dread and anxiousness. Awesome! That combo of not being able to see much except the flashes of a monster and the tense music were great. The art was great too, especially the sea monster and particle effects. I do wish the game gave me a popup or something when I died explaining why though, because there were a few times I still had a decent amount of health and oxygen left when it restarted, so there must've been something I missed. Solid submission!

I really enjoyed the intense feeling of not being able to see the obstacles/fish until the very last moment. It keeps me on the edge of my seat the entire time, kind of like Subnautica. I also really enjoyed the art, I think you have an amazing talent for drawing!

Awesome game! Creepy and anxious. Maybe is too difficult to dodge the enemy and the bullets.

Submitted(+1)

This game is so creepy! And hard. But lots of fun - gave you full marks because I thought it could be really fun with some tweaking.

Great game! 😄

You really nailed the “scary dark ocean” vibe! I did not expect to find bullet-hell here, but was pleasantly surprised!

There is a lot of RNG involved in the game - whether the pickups spawn above or below you (or beyond the edges of the level), whether you get the Curse of Darkness or not, whether the game spawns a new pattern directly under you, whether the monster snipes you three times in a row. I feel like this could probably be reduced.

Also, the end section was way too hard for me, but that might just be because I am not that good at bullet-hell games! 😭

In any case, I loved the cute art, I loved the vibe and the music! It’s an excellent game! 😊

I found some problems about the game, where being attacked by the big fish and the red dots were avoiding this was something about luck instead of ability, but after all, i liked the concept

Submitted(+1)

I know you now understand your problem a lot of other people also say that your art and visual looks good and have good potential.

my game also has a problem that people might not want to click my game or something like that.

I enjoy your game and try many times to beat the game but can not beat it

Could you send or upload a fixed version to me?

Developer(+2)

I am happy that you enjoy the game! never have anyone asked for a fixed build out of interests too, so I am thrilled!

As much as I want to, it's the jam rule against uploading any other version while the jam is still on. I don't think that you will judge me unfairly from the new build but gotta play safe in GMTK. Is it possible for me to notify you later when the game is updated? Maybe I will reply back to this comment so the noti pops.

Thank you a ton for the interest though!

Submitted(+1)

I finally made it thank you for the update

Developer(+1)

Good to hear that! thanks for waitingg!

The intro is terrifying. Playing subnautica all over again.

Kinda hard to play and not much going on though. Also initially somehow it crashed on the first screen and pressing space did nothing.

Submitted(+2)

Nice idea and music, but was very hard due to not having enough time to react. Almost every attempt was almost fully dark (could sometimes see fish but not the red orbs), except for second one. Restarted, same result, game is much more enjoyable when I have more than .5 seconds to react. So, if you want to beat the game, best way is to restart it and die once, then you can play normally.
By the way, what was the intended level of light?

Developer(+1)

Thank you for checking out the game and giving feedback!

Initially, you were supposed to be able to see the glowing part of the Bloop Fish and red orbs outside of the player light area (so basically the entire screen). I messed up when I tried to get fancy and have the boss "turn off the light" T^T now I regret it A LOT (maybe I shouldn't have pushed my luck lol)

Glad you enjoy the concept and the music choice though.

What a twist! I absolutely love the style and visual to this. I had so much fun, great work.

Submitted(+1)

Was not expecting that from a fishing game! Love it :D

A surprisingly tense experience. Even the lighting bug added to that claustrophobia (though it made it impossible).  This might be a case where you could figure out how to take the bug and make it fun while removing the frustration. Either way, is a good game :)

Actually an unexpected twist. Bullet hell was a little too hard with the limited visibility in my opinion.
