The game was fun, and on its simplicity had an interesting twist for the theme of the jam
nice game ! i think there is some issue with the ui and there wasnt any music. other than that, great job!
Hey this is a really cool idea! Very good twist or "reversed role" for the genre. It was quite charming, and I really loved the names of the attacks!! My second play I ended with a score of 1310.
Probably not in due to jam time limit, but it did feel a little desolate without any sound... but maybe that adds to the being alone and hunter by trainers feeling?!?
Anyways very good job! I could see something like this being expanded upon and becoming a huge hit!
I could see this being a pretty interesting roguelike actuallly. You kinda have to become increasingly strong to evade capture, you learn new moves, get new traits, and then eventually when you are captured that build is now something that can show up in the trainers' teams in the future. Fun take on the theme!
Goobygoob is my favorite. Ha! This is great idea! Good job!
Cool idea. Though it needs to be fleshed out a bit to be fun for more than a minute.
Totally agree. I had plans, like a escape mini-game whenever the trainer threw the Pokeball equivalent and a finale where you, now tamed, helped the trainer catch a shiny variant of yourself. But time limits, you know?
Well done, really challenges the idea behind what it means to be a Pokemon trainer :) I know you wanted to add in other features but with the time you had I feel you produced a well rounded game... good luck with the jam
I really liked the concept of this game! The animations are great, the names had me always chuckling. I can tell this was an ambitious project, but I respect how solid it turned out; even more considering you made it on your own. Props to you for consistently making interesting games!
Oh! That means a lot coming from you, because I was thinking the same about your work. I remembered enjoying Tower of Dice from last year's jam, and figured I was in for a good time when you came back for 2023. And I was right. Thanks for the kind words.
I like the idea of playing the wild pokemon, especially the "live your life in tall grass but avoid trainer" part. With more polishing it could be really great! My problem: when I read "Flamey Whamey", I didn't want to use anything else than this attack xD Good work!
Unique concept that has a lot of potential!
The game is not really pretty but it is really fun.
I like the battle effects and attacks name are "interesting" is think ?
I love these attack names hahaha
Beware of the strongest of attacks: FLAMEY WHAMEY!
Love the concept, very creative! The monster and attack names don't provide much information but it's still very fun to play.
