Fish game! I like the variety of fishes and the simple gameplay, was quite relaxing

Submitted

One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish.  :D   With a little more polish, I'd be totally.....hooked.

Oh man, missed game subtitle opportunity right there! Thanks for playing!

Submitted

this is such a cool concept and one i never would've thought off !! the different types of fish really helped to make the levels feel different !!!

Developer

Thanks for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed the experience and had fun switching things up with the fish!

Submitted

The music fit the game really well. I liked the idea of varied fish, but found it difficult to use most of them. The orange fish felt too good at sticking to walls, and the green one I had a difficult time getting very much height with. Overall a very cool idea for a game though!

Developer

I appreciate you sparing Orange Fish's feelings by saying he's 'too good' at sticking to walls! :P Orange and Green definitely need some tweaking to get them functional.

Submitted

Never thought I'd have fun jumping onto a hook but, here we are!

Developer

Ahaha, I've had this exact type of thought with so many games from this year's Jam! Glad you enjoyed it!

Really liked the concept. Its a really  nice game and honestly something I would've never thought of. The controls could use a bit of tweaking and then it would be golden

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Lovely game. Simple, but very fun.

What a fun little game! With some tweaks to the controls this could be incredible!

Developer

Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

Well done, that's a good game, it respect the theme, and it's kind of polished, but the controls are a bit tedious, but overall, well done! Please play my game!

Thanks very much for taking the time, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

This game is really enjoyable! Apart from a few bugs it's very fun to play, and feels almost relaxing. It's nice to have different types of fish, although I almost never used some of them (some comments mention the red fish being too useful, and I definitely agree with that!).

Developer

Ahaha, absolutely right, the consensus is that the red fish is great, so I'll need to go through the other fish and make them all as interesting and fun as the red fish!

Submitted

Was going to post a comment "ngl red op" but looks like other people got to this first.

Game was fun to play. Had some minor issues in the presentation such as the fish not moving with the hook when it gets stuck. Overall, I liked it. Good job.

Developer

Thanks very much for the feedback - dang frozen fish are causing everyone so much inconvenience!

Submitted

This is cute and neat. I did find the balance between fish a bit off (the red fish carried me through most of it). It might be cool to explore larger levels that require a combination of fish. (I also ran into the bugs reported earlier: the controls did not always work for a new fish and the hover fish seemed to just stick in place.)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I'll need to have a word with the red fish and let it know to stop hogging the spotlight, definitely a shared opinion.

I love the idea of some larger levels with a diverse range of obstacles that forces the player to switch fish; I don't think there's any need to use metamorphafish currently.

Submitted

this concept is hilarious, haha. great thinking! i didn't manage to beat it yet, but i'll be back after i rate a few more games.

i really love the different abilities, and trying to analyze the levels to see what fish is best. that said, some of the fish are hard for me to find a use for and i usually stuck with the red one, too. the green fish in particular was a rough one for me--the hover seems like it could be useful, but i can't get the fish up over any obstacles so there's usually not much i can do with it. i'm wondering if the game just isn't running completely right on my computer, because i also noticed some weirdness with the charge jump (most fish seemed to jump lower than a regular jump even if i charged it to the same level of energy that a regular jump would take). but it could very easily be a skill issue too.

i also had trouble getting past some of my olf on the later levels. especially when i would use the orange fish--there would be a buncha bodies stuck to the walls, blocking me from getting places sometimes even after i switched to a different color fish. is there a way to clear the screen, or do i just need to be careful where i let them pile up?

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the detailed feedback! I'm delighted to hear you were getting a laugh out of it! Getting to the Green Fish is a solid chunk of progress!

Thanks for the feedback, definitely agree I need to make the other fish more appealing (or introduce the Red Fish later?) I did have to adjust physics for all the fish moving from Unity to WebGL, and I suspect the Green Fish didn't make the transition successfully and need fixing.

Very important to hear that dead fish are currently being a real obstacle! Thought it would be funny having the fish bumping off each other, but not if it's at the cost of the experience!

Submitted(+1)

i made it up to the purple fish, and a little past that i think! not quite to the last fish, so i have a goal for next time :)

ahh, physics. i understand, lol. red fish could come later for sure, or maybe the different fish could be sorted into difficulties? it does depend a lot on the level which fish is easier, but something with that could be fun. where you get some sort of reward depending on which fish you beat the level with (this could also tie into encouraging the player to experiment with different fish). and the dead fish are usually fine, i just have issues with the orange ones for the most part. maybe after a bit they could dry out and lose their stickiness, falling into the water below?

Submitted

Felt very fun lol, and also a very simple but fun take on the theme. There's a lot of "what if fishing game but the fish attack the people," which is nice too, but I like how this is almost  like a fish based platformer lol.

Developer(+1)

Ahaha, "Fish-Based Platforming", need to add this as a tagline. Thanks so much for taking the time!

Submitted

Great concept. The game is hard at the beginning but once you get the hang of it its very enjoyable. Nicely done!

Developer

Thanks very much! Definitely wanted to create something that took a knack to it, so glad to hear that's coming through!

I really really enjoyed this game, I think it would be cool to have a level select that shows which levels you beat with which fish to encourage me to try out all the fish more. I got attached to the red fish early on and relied on it for much of the game.

The art is simple, but works well.

Developer

Thanks for trying it out; I reckon the red fish might be the most fairly balanced one, so good pick!

100% agreed; a level select was on the planning document, but I couldn't get it to work well. I love the idea of challenging players to beat every level with every fish.

Submitted(+1)

Really loved the gameplay and the idea, super unique! If you go on to develop this further I did have two problems. First, the fullscreen didn't seem to work for me and I could only see half of the menu in fullscreen, and secondly, sometimes when adding a new fish, controls did not affect it and I had to add another one. Overall a super fun experience and it really embodies the theme well!

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the feedback, I definitely need to refine how it's implemented onto the webpage (did not give this enough time for sure!) I spent hours yesterday trying to fix the frozen fish bug but it ultimately defeated me, hopefully I can work it out!

Very satisfying to play!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, hope you enjoyed it!

Submitted

very fun, a little tricky at first but once you get a hang of it its great

Developer

Great to hear :) Definitely intended a learning curve, hoping it's not too harsh! Thanks very much.

Submitted

Cool concept, albeit a little harsh for fishes. Really fits the game jam's theme.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for trying it out! Happy to report that no fish were harmed in the making of this game.
