Really love this concept! The art is super polished too. My only complaint was that I wanted more.
Thank you so much! That means a lot to hear :)
I'm hoping to add more levels and polish the pre-existing ones after the jam!
That was really nice! The music was dope, and I loved the fact that I could choose the color of the slime.
I did feel that the hiding mechanic was not used, but I guess that's the nature of game jams :P
I adore what you did with the intro sequence, especially how you typed the letters at the end. Sooooooo cool. Great work!
I'll admit, the first thing that drew me to this was the title. That pun.
Anyway, the presentation here is off the scale! Great sprite work, juicy movement, nice audio - it's all really good. The movement could have been a little quicker, but that's about the worst of it. Oh, and the ability to pick coins back up when you forget that you don't press space to go through a door.
It's very short, but that's understandable, given the time limit. I'm almost certain you intended to do more with the concept, and there's definitely more to be done with it.
Thank you so much for the feedback and for playing! Yeah, Pun titles are always fun haha.
I'm glad to hear that you overall like the concept and the idea! As well as the artwork and movement mechanics. The feedback is really helpful as well, like the slow movement and bugs, like putting the coins down by trying to interact with doors. I'll be addressing these in a post-jam update which should fix most of those issues and make it longer!
Again, thank you so much for playing!
A super well polished and beautiful game, I can totally see this going further into a sort of stealth puzzle game in future, great work!
Cool cutscene, great visuals and a lot polish overall.
There were a few issues thought, the slime is not very fun to move around which is a shame because the animations are nice. I also couldn't find how to fight after getting caught and the game bugged when it restarted.
But beside it was really cool. It has a nice vibe and the mechanics are interesting. Well done!
Despite the hiccups this looks like a pro game made over a long period. Just needs to play that way now. It looks great with great ideas. Wish the slime was more responsive but overall impressive.
Thanks for checking our game out. Awesome job! Great overall aesthetic. 5/5 presentation for sure. Genuinely really impressed by the level of polish on the intro, sprites, animation, etc. I liked the idea of distracting the angels with gold. Its a shame it never managed to get particularly challenging, because I really loved the concept. Something like hiding in the barrels (which never actually got utilized I think?) to avoid a guard on patrol would've felt really cool. Still a really charming submission. Well done!
no problem on checking out your game, it was great. Thank you so much for checking mine out too, and for the invaluable feedback!
I put a large focus on the art-side of the game, sprites, animations, the intro panels, etc., so I’m happy to hear those all look good! I really appreciate the kind words in that regard. I do agree the game isn’t very hard, though. And is fairly short! Originally there was a third angel that did patrol, and that’s what the barrels would be used for. But unfortunately it was very buggy and isn’t seen in the final build. I’m hoping to make a post-jam update, which should make things a little more challenging and give the barrels a use again. I’ll make sure to use this feedback when making that update. Again, thank you so so much for the detailed feedback and for playing the game, it means a lot!
I'd love to play a post-jam submission with more stealth game mechanics! This game has real potential :)
the presentation/feel of the game is great, music, movement, levels. And mechanic of collecting gold, but for distraction instead of as currency was cool, maybe implying the 'angels' are greedy or something.
I'm glad you liked the game overall! And yeah, I tried to put a 'spin' on traditional RPG items like gold/coins. Instead of using them to purchase things you're luring the 'angels' away with them. It does add some implications though!
Again, thanks a lot for playing and for the kind words :)
There are some bugs, but it looks nice.
Thank you so much!
Really cool game. Nice interpretation of the theme! The graphics and music is really neat and also the intro cards made it very easy to follow the game. The jump movement was especially nice! I just want to play more levels! You made a really nice polished experience!
Great game! The art style is really good and the story is nice.
either the game crashed when I got caught which sucks OR when you die in the game it closes which is frggin awesome. the animations look really good which is a good look for you AND Godot. my only recommendation is to mash space/enter to go through text fast.
Crashing wasn't intended but I do agree it actually adds a bit to the experience, funnily enough, haha. Thanks for the kind words in regard to things like the animations, that means a lot to hear, and thanks for the feedback. I'll work on improving elements like being able to skip through text in a potential post-jam update later down the line!
This take on the theme is supported by great art style and fun little ideas. The slime is really cute, distracting the enem.. sorry, heroes by shiny coins and how their vision cone narrows down is really funny. The death screen with the fight scene intro also sets the mood really well.
There were some gamebreaking bugs (being stuck in a barrel, not being able to control anything), but was a fun experience overall. Great job!
Thank you for the kind words! I'm happy with how the visuals came out, and I'm glad to hear that overall it was a fun experience! I do apologize for the bugs, this game had less playtesting than I would have liked, and I do feel that that aspect is reflected in some of the issues seen throughout the game both minor and major. I appreciate the feedback, and that you took the time to play my game, once more, thank you!
I love it! A few bugs here and there, but even so it only inconvenienced me while playing (since no cutscene skip). It's definitely a great take on the theme, the art style is extremely cute, it's very relaxing, and you better ping me once the game gets more content!!!!
I'm so happy you liked it even despite some of the more problematic bugs! I appreciate the comments on the artstyle and I'm glad to hear it was overall a relaxing and enjoyable experience even with its faults. I'll definitely keep you updated, I'm keeping track of all of the biggest bugs/issues and I'm hoping to deploy a post-jam update to fix these, along with some new/improved content!
