The levels are too hard for me but I like the concept and the art! And as the others said, it would be nice to have a quick retry button.

Very nice well polished experience, I distinctly rememember starting the game and being dazzled by how smooth the transition to the planning phase was. biggest problem(and this is gonna sound kinda stupid) the controls, specifically the jump, feel a bit off.

Developer

Thanks for playing!

I have a question if you don't mind me asking, what do you mean with the controls feeling off? You mean like the layout, or the movement in game feels weird? (say, the jump is too floaty/heavy or something like that)

Submitted(+1)

The jump feels off to me because:

1. It's too floaty. After I reach the apex of a jump it feels unnatural how slow I'm falling.

2.the shortest possible jump doesn't cover a full tile, which is a bit annoying.

Also you should definitely release a web build if possible, a lot more people will get to experience your game that way.

Developer

Thanks for your reply!

We'll work on the jump, I also feel it's a bit too floaty but when we tried to change the values it didn't feel good either, so we'll keep working on it!

Also, we had a web build, we made it just in time to submit it for the jam, but when we tested it there was a problem where one of the players couldn't move so we had to delete it, it happens in some computers with the regular build too, which is weird. We fixed it though, and will update it after the jam.

This is so polished for 48 hours! Really impressive - hope you continue to work on it.
Like others have said, if there was a way to retry quickly, it would help the game flow from the planning to the playing phase.
It would be great if you were able to rate and review our submission too - thanks!

Developer

Thank you for playing! We'll make sure to make a post jam update with a couple things, like maybe a tutorial and the reset haha

We'll be sure to check out your game as well!

Nice twist on the "control two characters" concept with the abilities, also very good implementation when you give a complete overview over both levels when choosing the abilities.
I really liked the challenge of the game, but would have loved a second "soft reset" button that jumps you right to the start without having to re-choose the abilities. Also needs an ingame display of the controls / a tutorial.

Thanks! We felt that showing the levels beforehand was an integral part of choosing the correct items, but you’re right, once you do this correctly, there’s no need to force the user to choose them again and again.

Thanks for the feedback!

Interesting concept! The levels felt really hard, though. I’d suggest explaining in-game how the abilities are activated & that they are single-use and have a fixed duration - during the first play I thought they are constantly active & got confused. I’d also suggest enabling jumps by the up arrow, it got extremely frustrating to lose many times and then realize I’m pressing the wrong button :D Anyways, cool job!

Developer(+1)

You’re right! Time constraints didn’t allow us to put an in-game tutorial, so we just added the instructions to the game’s page. Not ideal, at all.. Especially if the game is download only (Browser build had some issues that we fixed just past the deadline)

I don’t know why do we always forget to add the up arrow as a jump button, especially for simpler games like this one.. haha

Thanks for the feedback!

I really like the way you used the abilities to make this game a little bit different. The only thing I would say could be better is the amount of time it takes to solve these puzzles. It was very challenging, but I had a lot of fun playing it. Great job!

Developer

Thanks! We’re happy that you had fun playing the game!

The trial and error might be too much for how slow it takes to retry, but pretty good overall puzzles and good concept

Developer(+1)

Thanks for trying! We definitely need to lower the retry time before it becomes too frustrating to play the latter levels
