Cool graphics and cool idea, maybe the gameplay needs some polish.

Very cool idea! Really like the way you can use the cannon for movement!

Greate idea and fun game play

Control a little cranky and the background make direction a little bit confusing

I can see this game have a lot of potential

This is a cool concept and fits the Jams Theme perfectly. It was just a bit hard to control the game.

This is such a fun concept! I love both acquiring resources, moving via grappling hook, and moving via cannon shot, and this was a fun combination of the three!

Unfortunately it was also quite confusing - it wasn't clear which island produced which resource, and the text at the bottom was too small to read while playing the game at the same time.

Also, for the cannon shots, I think you need to add the cannon island's current velocity to the ball when you fire it, as currently the shots go off in random directions relative to you. This is made especially confusing given there's no real indication of your island's velocity relative to the world.

I found it quite difficult to understand what was happening but the art was really nice and I like the attention to detail of the guns shooting in time with the music.

I got an error, but I love the game playing it was fun

Developer

Did you save the error? I will try to fix the errors people are getting rarely.

Thanks for the feedback!

Great thumbnail, pleasant, enjoyable gameplay. Matches the theme very well. Original assets are definitely an upside! :D

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! Glad you liked it!^^

Could be nice with a multiplayer mode, "grab and shoot" can be satisfying tho' :)

Really like the concept. For me, certain things make the game harder than it should be though. I at first had problems with aiming the cannon, which doesn't seem to follow my mouse, but after reading other comments, potentially it was a bug? There was also one island I tried to hook onto but it was so fast that it just dragged us around in circles. However, after reloading the game, I had a much better time. Also, it was kind of hard to tell when I can purchase an upgrade, so a simple highlight to show an upgrade is purchasable would be good. Otherwise, you've got a really solid game concept that fits perfectly with the theme without sacrifising uniqueness, so good job!

I've tested it about a hour ago, increasing the speed of the cannon by x3 solved the issue.

Were you already connected to the island or was it while you were trying to hook it and it kept spinning around? In both cases you should be able to fix it by either shoot 2/3 times with the cannon or hooking something else before. We've to look into it why it keeps on happening ofc.

Some indicator would definitely help, we agree with that. Will add it to my todo list!

Thank you for the feedback! :)

ooh ok! It was while I was trying to hook it, but thanks for the advice!

Damn, the physics in this game feels very satisfying. It takes some time to understand and get used to the control, however when you do the game start to shine. I would say that the overall experience was very fulfilling, but the "wall of text" on the bottom, kind of steals from the immersiveness. You could try to use icons instead of all those numbers. In rest, very good job.

The game is a lot of fun, great idea and execution. Love the fact that you cant aim your gun while pulling in a different island

The game was a lot of fun. I didn’t know that you move when you shoot so I ended up waiting for people to come close. A lot of fun. There was a bug though. The player can leave the screen if you shoot too many times upwards and there is no way to get him back. Loved the art and the music. Loved the idea too, it’s so unique

Music is really cool and I liked the idea but the cannon aiming was at the wrong angle it seems so was a bit difficult to play

Developer(+1)

After the jam I've been looking into this for a bit. It seems to be the issue that you move faster than the cannon, which makes it look weird and difficult. People who have managed to get a lot of islands don't move at all and state that at that point there was no issue at all. Should have increased the speed I suppose :)

Ah I see! Still a really cool idea, well done!

The music and sound design for this game is amazing

really cool concept

nice idea guys!

Cannon aiming felt weird and didn't seem to always go where I aimed it.

Interesting that you can only move with harpoons and cannon. I kind of like that.

I like that you can upgrade your items and I like the fact that you can use the islands as protection and also like that the islands give you resources over time instead of only when you first capture them!

Submitted(+1)

I like the design idea and how you collect resources by linking up to them and the fact the enemy players provide an actual challenge.

Submitted(+1)

It's an interesting concept, but the execution could have been better. Nothing seems to pass but enemies, and the cannon is hard to aim. It lacks some refinement and polish, but has lots of potential!

Wow really cool game / idea!!
