This would be a really fun multiplayer game! The physics driven movement was really satisfying.

Really fun and satisfying. With some refining this could be a great multiplayer game!

I really loved the concept of this game, and got so into it that I forgot the time. I liked the art, the title screen was very cute and the in-game graphics were easily readable (eg this island has wood, this island has gold, etc). The text for the upgrades was a bit small but to be honest I didn't really notice since the upgrade buttons have a big icon for whatever it's upgrading, so that was fine. I had a ton of fun with the gameplay itself, and thought the controls worked well. Maybe my one quibble is that the ocean could use more textures like waves etc to give more of an impression of movement, since sometimes I couldn't tell if I was dead in the water or if I was actually drifting in a certain direction. Otherwise really great job and I had a blast!

By the way, we played your game on our stream last night!

Developer(+1)

We did add a few waves to make it a bit more readable from the background, but I strongly agree that the background need some refinement. Luckly we did make it so things will always spawn around you according to your level. So in the end in this version it doesn't matter if you drift apart from everthing :)

Thanks for the feedback, I will watch the video :)

cool idea! and very hard to play :)

Cool idea for a game. It's very fun to hoard the islands for defense against the pirates. Only thing is the upgrade system is a bit unclear. Also the music is great, makes the game feel very epic! Good job!

Playing on the browser generated an error when I sunk an island. The game itself seems fun, the cannonball were a bit unpredictable, as I was aiming North-East for example, but as I was drifting around due to the harpoon the cannonballs were shot north, or stayed in place as I drifted. The resource management part isn’t very clear, it may be due to it crashing so I didn’t get to the resource gathering part.

Developer(+1)

We should have added some explanation, I agree on that part. I can update the main mage with a small explanation of that. The cannonball part is due to the cannonball being way too slow. This has been changed already in the local build which I will upload after the ratings have been set in place.

I sadly do not know what is causing the error in the browser.

Thank you for the feedback :)

I particularly enjoy how this game answer the theme, and for someone like me who enjoys games are heavy on resource management, this was a real gem. Using both the harpoon and cannon to move around was fun and allowed for creative moments. When I played I latched onto one of those darn pirates with my harpoon and dragged myself in to finish the kill, which was absolutely sick :D

Pretty great! Had a great time playing this one :) Felt like I was build a mythical pirate fort

Sinking off pirates was really hard! The mechanics were pleasing to toy around with, however. Funtimes were had swinging around.

If i were to give one suggestion, would be to add some extra (and easier to see) waves to make speed more clear.

The game is good with the concept and then pretty okay with the presentation. But the gameplay needs a little polish.

I found the hitboxes for the resources not working properly. Maybe letting players use a fullscreen.

Good job on getting it done on time!

Developer(+1)

If you meant the hitboxes were not working while they were attached to you, then that's correct. If they weren't working while they weren't attached to something we will need to look into that.

There should be a fullscreen button, the standard unity fullscreen button.

Thank you for the feedback! :)

The standard one wasn't working for some reason. Good concept man. Should definitely improve on it!

Cool graphics and cool idea, maybe the gameplay needs some polish.

Very cool idea! Really like the way you can use the cannon for movement!

Greate idea and fun game play

Control a little cranky and the background make direction a little bit confusing

I can see this game have a lot of potential

Submitted(+1)

This is a cool concept and fits the Jams Theme perfectly. It was just a bit hard to control the game.

This is such a fun concept! I love both acquiring resources, moving via grappling hook, and moving via cannon shot, and this was a fun combination of the three!

Unfortunately it was also quite confusing - it wasn't clear which island produced which resource, and the text at the bottom was too small to read while playing the game at the same time.

Also, for the cannon shots, I think you need to add the cannon island's current velocity to the ball when you fire it, as currently the shots go off in random directions relative to you. This is made especially confusing given there's no real indication of your island's velocity relative to the world.

I found it quite difficult to understand what was happening but the art was really nice and I like the attention to detail of the guns shooting in time with the music.

I got an error, but I love the game playing it was fun

Developer

Did you save the error? I will try to fix the errors people are getting rarely.

Thanks for the feedback!

an embedding error

Great thumbnail, pleasant, enjoyable gameplay. Matches the theme very well. Original assets are definitely an upside! :D

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! Glad you liked it!^^

Could be nice with a multiplayer mode, "grab and shoot" can be satisfying tho' :)

Submitted(+1)

Really like the concept. For me, certain things make the game harder than it should be though. I at first had problems with aiming the cannon, which doesn't seem to follow my mouse, but after reading other comments, potentially it was a bug? There was also one island I tried to hook onto but it was so fast that it just dragged us around in circles. However, after reloading the game, I had a much better time. Also, it was kind of hard to tell when I can purchase an upgrade, so a simple highlight to show an upgrade is purchasable would be good. Otherwise, you've got a really solid game concept that fits perfectly with the theme without sacrifising uniqueness, so good job!

Developer(+1)

I've tested it about a hour ago, increasing the speed of the cannon by x3 solved the issue.

Were you already connected to the island or was it while you were trying to hook it and it kept spinning around? In both cases you should be able to fix it by either shoot 2/3 times with the cannon or hooking something else before. We've to look into it why it keeps on happening ofc.

Some indicator would definitely help, we agree with that. Will add it to my todo list!

Thank you for the feedback! :)

Submitted(+1)

ooh ok! It was while I was trying to hook it, but thanks for the advice!
