How does your game fit the theme?
In Wave Dash you control a rubber dinghy that can "dash" in any direction, using up a battery after each dash. The game fits the theme because once you start a dash you lose control over the boat until it comes to a complete stop. Another way the game fits the theme is through the loss of batteries after each dash; the player slowly runs out of dashes, the tool that is used to control the boat.

I very much enjoyed this one.  The stellar music certainly helped, but the simple and intuitive gameplay is also fun and fits the theme very well.  Great job.

The distance/speed of the boat felt just right and the game sort of plays like a golf game without a power selector. I thought the fast whirlpools being inescapable was rather annoying since it would essentially be the same as removing all your batteries once you hit a whirlpool. I also thought the game should've incorporated some more bank shots off obstacles. One last suggestion I have is if you added a feature where you could look ahead a bit by holding a button to pan the screen towards the direction your boat is facing so you could better predict your shots.

Thanks for the feedback!  I started toying around with a look ahead function but I ran out of time before I could make it work.  I also really wanted to make more bank shot obstacles but unity's physics engine decided to not want to bounce off of anything for me.  As I mentioned in a previous comment, while play testing I found that I would get so close to the end just to run out of dashes due to having to use a dash earlier to let's say, escape a whirlpool and it felt a little infuriating.  To fix this I just made the side whirlpools super strong as I felt that getting sucked into a trap would be a lot less annoying than being a screen away from the end and not being able to finish.  Looking back I do agree with you.  Thank you for your feedback!

Nice! I really liked the animations in the menu and the in-game tutorial. I got to the level with the whirlpools, but I couldn't get past that one. I think one thing that would have really helped would be a map screen, or some way to view the whole level so you know what's ahead of you. I would end up in a whirlpool that was previously offscreen, and be completely unable to get out.

Nice job on the art and the music by the way! It fit the game really well.

Nice game! I liked the tutorial, you could instantly jump into playing the game. There's nothing I hate more than having to read the instructions after you've started the game, and you handled this very well.

I like the music! It sounds very ocean-like. I also like the visual indicators of the strength of whirlpools!

My only thing is the whirlpools need a nerf-- once you've hit one it's game over completely. I think if they were slightly less powerful, they'd still be dangerous but it would just have to require fast reactions.

The reason I made most of the whirlpools so powerful is because of the limited amount of dashes.  During my play testing I found that I would get so close to the end just to run out of dashes due to having to use a dash earlier to let's say, escape a whirlpool and it felt a little infuriating.  With hindsight being 20/20 I see other ways I could've dealt with this problem but in the moment I decided to make it so the whirlpools on the sides stop you completely.  Nonetheless, thanks for the feedback!

Really nice and pleasant game! The idea is just fantastic, the presentation was great, everything was polished. The game overall is very intuitive and fun. Really good game, congratulations!!

This is such a pleasant game! I love the music and the wave transition animation between levels. Good job making the UI and everything look really polished. Very simple art but very clean and done well and effective. I like that even though its a tweak on controls game it has more of a puzzle aspect and less about coordination that's out of control which makes it way more enjoyable. Great job!

Thank you!  I am by no means a professional artist so I tried to keep the art simple.  I was trying to go for that kind of puzzle kind of feel instead of shooting in the dark as I designed each level around a specific path, so I'm glad you noticed that!
