How does your game fit the theme?
The game explores using chaos as a weapon. Rather than destroying enemies directly, you remove their control so they collide into each other. As their ranks are broken, their numeric superiority becomes a weakness. In contrast, the ray itself exemplifies control: the player must decide which targets to prioritize. By focusing the beam in a specific direction, its movement is slowed and control is lost over the rest of the battlefield. This constant trade off becomes more important as the battle rages on and chaos becomes the new order.

Amazing looking graphics and I liked the concept a lot.  The gameplay had a nice feel and you left good room for planning.

This is strangely relaxing. Must research further. Great work!

Well done! It's no easy feat to make such a cohesive game - the visuals, sound, and game feel are all in lockstep.

I got to 16K before letting a ship through, as I was able to defend against big waves fairly well - I found that as long as I juked any close ships, I could survive pretty easily. Maybe having ones that split up or need the focused beam to frazzle would help make this more varied. But anyway nicely done!

Thanks so much! Yeah we definitely needed at least one more AI type to mix it up in the late game.

I got to ~6150 before giving up. The presentation and gameplay are nice but there's not enough kinds of enemies, so it gets predictable

Developer

Yeah for sure. The enemies get faster over time but that's about it atm. Thanks for playing!

My highscore was 8000! Very good design! My only complaint is that the green enemies are not consistent. They can still come after you even after they're green. In fact that's what caused me to lose just now.

Developer

Thanks! Yeah that's a bug unfortunately.

Fun, very balanced gameplay. Very well polished.

I thought this game was really awesome! The art style is super well put together and music fits it beautifully. This type of gameplay is a perfect example of "experiment and find out", where you just see what happens when you point your radar at something and then learn from the result.

The only "complaint" I had was I wanted moar! More enemies, more mechanics, more levels, more context, more everything. If you put some more work into this, you could easily make a full release in my opinion!

Developer

Thanks! Will definitely think about adding some more after the jam.

This was a snazzy lil' arcade game you got here! It reminded me of Armageddon, but with a much more chill vibe -- not to say that the game didn't stress me out!

This is just an excellent little game. I don't know how you could improve it. Very well done!

The presentation of the visuals is great and super innovative. Love the interesting spin on the jams theme as well, only feedback would be the ability to redirect the incoming missiles which would have added to the gameplay and visual spectacle of everything.
