  • A pretty fun game in the House Party genre. I liked seeing all different sizes of the people types.
  • Really good interpretation of the theme that is not only fun, very replayable and a level of difficulty that feels fair and balanced, it's also very polished with gorgeous art, fantastic music and great sound effects. Definitely a stand out and one I can see myself replaying again and again.
  • I don't have any real feedback for this game, it is just fantastic! It is so good I took a break from judging to play it again, then played it again after I judged all the games. It isn't just fun for a fetish game, it is just fun, full stop. Fantastic art, a very satisfying gameplay loop, matched the theme perfectly

Great art, fun game loop.

Simple relaxing gameplay, the art is very good and creative, i think this game have lots of potential to future updates. I think i would give the game a 8.2/10

Easily the best game in this Jam's library. Has been the only one I have come back to play again. Mechanics are easy to understand, a decent verity of characters to get score from and puzzle out how to get the best score. Very fun and very relaxing game even in the higher levels.

great game great gameplay the art is soooo good solid 8.7/10

Great core mechanic with just simple but effective art to communicate intuitivly. Great submittion.

Really fun game. The gameplay is very engaging and satisfying despite it being a numbers game. I like that the solutions sometimes aren't just ot have the biggest passengers all on board at once in order to get a highscore. IT's great only thing that I would like is perhaps binding the Side scrolling to the mouse wheel? Makes it a bit simpler to peruse each car

Pretty nice! Hard and slow enough to make you think and relaxful to not worry much, thanks to music. Art is also great, not very hot, but still. The only thing what gives me trouble is calculations. Sometimes it's not entirely clear why one way or another, why certain characters treat each other this way and when preferences outweigh dislike. For example, why do chattbox and mascot or employee dislike each other, or why locals and runners like chefs, but those don't like mascots, and etc. On the other hand, it gives me a reason to play again and try to go further with new knowledge, but I would prefer not to encounter such mechanics more often...

....I don't usually play these games for fun, usually i just look at the art, and turn the other cheek,
Buuuuut, suprisingly, when i was going about doing that for this game, i actually.... ended up playing for a while and even was focusing more on the game than the art, ....well played.

I'm evidently not the target audience for this game so I feel a little weird criticizing it. The gameplay does little for me, so... yeah, I won't just dwell on that, but I think I have some valuable thoughts to offer regardless.

  1. Fatness isn't integrated very well into the gameplay where I think it could be. Specifically, the cooks and dieticians imply fat-related narratives & relationships which fit the "weight gain" theme incredibly well, but I find those are the only two that really capitalize on it. Limited time for a game jam means it'd be hard to think up more of course, I don't begrudge it for lacking this as a jam game, but if it's developed further I think more thought should go into how exactly fatness can be integrated in that sort of way. As is, it's just those two passenger types, + passengers taking up more space due to being fat. Feels a little underwhelming to me.
  2. The game is too slow. Counting all the points at the end takes a needlessly long time - I think it should start significantly faster and accelerate less - and I find it takes longer than it should for the train to leave the current station & arrive at the next. Just feels like an excess of waiting for how many times these are shown, it was fairly obnoxious. (Maybe those into the gameplay don't mind?)
  3. Scrolling the screen is rather unpleasant and slow - I think the team should consider making it so mouse scrolling also moves the camera. This would make for faster scrolls and a much more convenient method, since you don't have to drag your mouse all across the screen. It's tempting to say the view should be widened, but I understand that a balance has to be struck to actually show off the characters. Mouse scrolling seems a good compromise.

Yeah-- I hope this is helpful/constructive ^w^; this is a well-polished & presented game that its target audience evidently really enjoys, so great job!

Pretty fair criticisms, I'm glad you took the time for an analysis despite not liking the game.

Super fun thinking game! Presentation is impeccable and the gameplay loop is so good I can see myself getting stuck in it for hours.

(+1)

Really really good game! Had a lot of fun with it!

An excellent entry for sure, I absolutely adore how simple, yet satisfying the gameplay loop is! Very intuitive, and it's fun figuring out what character combinations work well, and which characters are simply the best for point farming. The designs and graphics are absolutely charming as well, and it's genuinely fun seeing the passengers grow larger and fatter the further you progress through the rounds. Absolutely a blast to play!

A great game! I enjoyed the mixing and matching of passengers, and even caught myself naming certain combinations (1 diet, 2 joggers = gain gang/ 1 chef + 2 tourists = out of town chow down, ect. )! The gameplay loop is pretty easy to get lost in, I just wish there was more! Like either upgrades to the train  (maybe increased weight limit, something that tells you how much weight is allowed on that car, ect.) , special passengers that you would have to work around (i.e maybe a special chef that fattens up other passengers before the train takes off) , or even events like one where the lights go out, or one where one of the train carts are out of commission (This is all suggested for a later update if you guys would like to make one, the base game as is is stellar!). All in all, great game! Great submission!

Wonderful game! i dont know how to rate it but i absolutely loved the art, especially the male characters, and it was a very novel concept!

Took me a bit to realize I could have passengers on the left/right train cars, ha! Is there a penalty for leaving people at the station? I was also trying to figure out why I'd leave someone on the train past their stop?

The audio/music is amazing, such a catchy tune. As others have said, the subtle increase in the size of the passengers as you play is a nice touch. It'd be nice if the info appeared on hover, having to click on everyone to try and keep track of things is a bit tedious. Maybe each like/dislike could be a little icon in the future? Then that could also pop-up when scoring to reinforce the like/dislike factor.

Really fun entry! I made it to station 22 as well, is there a definitive end to reach or does it just keep going as long as you reach the quota?

Developer(+1)

No penalty for leaving people on the platform. Originally there was going to be, but it was more fun swapping out people in the later stages to boost your score so we ended up keeping it simple.

Keeping passengers past their stops is usually bad since you're missing out on that bonus, but if they boost another passengers mood enough then taking the hit to their own mood matters much less! (Also I'm imagining the scenario where someone keeps missing their stop because they've got Mr. 5x5 blocking their way and can't squeeze past)

Info on hovering ended up being a bit distracting as you were scrolling over passengers, and would sometimes cover up other passengers when you were trying to click on them. The current system is a bit kludgey, but it mostly works, at least well enough for the jam.

No definitive end, just a score attack to see how far you can get for now. Mid-20s seems to be about the limit for optimal play, though if you're extraordinarily lucky getting to 30 is technically possible.

Oh my gosh this is so creative! I love it! I still don't know why some guys hate each other and the scrolling left-and-right became a little tedious but absolutely solid game - great gameplay and remarkable amount of characters! Big fan

Developer

Yeah there's a few quality of life things that would've good to add in retrospect, moving the camera with the arrows keys as an option being one of them. Glad you enjoyed the game!

This game is amazing! I love it!

Submitted(+3)

In this entire gamejam this is definitely the one submission that's the best at being a game! Simple gameplay loop that works really nicely, all while you get to see the passengers reach bigger and bigger sizes over time. Very polished for a gamejam as well!

(+2)

I really love this submission and how creative it is, the art, music and gameplay are all great and all work really well together. As time went on it really got me thinking on how to organize my passengers and seeing who can and can't fit onto my train. From my latest play session I was able to get up to station 22, but I'll see how far I can get in future playthroughs, as this game has great replayability. Plus I love the added challenge of new passengers progressively getting fatter, and I just enjoy watching them all plump up. All in all, really great work.

(+7)

Really good! All the character designs are great, and it's fun to mix and match the passengers to maximize the score. One thing I'd like would be a bit more information on their Likes and Dislikes, such as if some likes are 'stronger' than others, and if so then having a +/++/+++ next to them to distinguish them would be cool. Maybe a gallery, too. ...and one or two more size tiers(but that's just wishful thinking, lol).

Developer(+2)

I think two size tiers up might just not be able to fit on the train at all

(+3)

I would love to see any number of size teirs added heheh. super massive ones taking whole or multiple carts but giving a large payout would be amazing! also how many size teirs are there? wonderful game by the way, def the highlight of a year. all of your games are great
