I wish I found this while I was playing jam games. It's really good

This game was so much fun to play!

The design, soundtrack and sound effects was amazing!~

Would suggest making each wave shorter and more enemies appear at once,

Other than that I had a blast playing it!!

Thank you so much! And thanks for the feedback!

Can you give me your discord and your scratch? I would like to collab for future jams :)

Developer(+1)

I don't use discord, but here's my scratch: https://scratch.mit.edu/users/ccallahantow/ Hope we can collab in a jam sometime!

A solid execution of a concept you don't see taken advantage of much in most 2D games - terrain-based mechanic changes for both player and enemy. I really enjoyed the visual style of the game and I feel it could serve as a foundation for numerous interesting enemies and mechanics. I like high difficulty, so the pace was a bit slow for me, but the enemies spawning on top of me during the final wave caught me off guard! Well done. Would enjoy seeing more!

Thank you so much! And thanks for the feedback! I think a hard mode would be a nice addition if I decide to expand.

Honestly I am simply terrified someone could make something this good in scratch lol. Should really revisit that engine kek.

But yeah everything's awesome, could do with some enemy variety,  but it's a game jam it's always gonna be simple.

Developer

Thank you! And I agree. It will be fun to add some new enemies after the jam.

Solid game!

I liked how you implemented a core gameplay loop around the theme. Two different play styles happen on separate sides of the screen. The visuals were nice, and I think you've selected a nice music track to go along with it.

Player attack and movement could be juicier, but even in their current phase, they feel great. Other than that, I wish you have used the "geometry" limitation more often, I think it would add something more to the game!

Excellent job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! And I agree, adding some more geometry theming would be cool.

Great job!  This feels like two games in one, combining ground zelda-esque combat with asteroids combat is a great idea.  The sound effects are cute too, and the I love the nice little detail of the vegetation swaying when you pass walk over it.

Thank you!

Is this what peoples call a "Masterpiece"?
I can't believe this is made in scratch

This is insane.
The fact that this has been made in scratch is so impressive, because I know that making solid object collisions is a pain.
The gameplay itself is super satisfying and I think this should be expanded upon further.
I would really like to collaborate someday.
5 stars all around, you deserve the win! :D

Sorry, I can only really play browser games right now. I'll try to play it before the voting ends, but I don't know if I will be able to.

This is definitely the coolest concept I've seen come out of this jam. The fact that you executed it so well blows me away. The art is great, the controls are tight, the effects are punchy, and even the music is awesome. Great job!

This has got to be my favorite game I've rated so far. The premise is perfect and the result so polished. It has a great difficulty curve, the attacks are satisfying, the sound design is beautiful, and the art is so perfectly retro. It's extremely impressive how you essentially made a separate game on either side of the screen but then carefully and coherently combined the two into one.

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed!

Hi,

Nicely done,  I liked the idea of joining two games together on the two sides of the screen.

If I really have to find some suggestions to improve it, maybe the feeling of the controls was a bit off, especially at the beginning between the switch from the asteroid-like and the top-down adventure movements. Anyway, great job to come out with something so nice with such a little amount of time.

Developer

Thanks! Maybe I'll make the switch less jarring in the future.
