How does your game meet GBJam's theme?
The game's structured around the collection of 'lucky charms' which were taken from the protagonist.
The game ends in an RPG battle, if you don't have enough lucky charms for the battle your attacks will miss and you will lose, otherwise you'll land critical hits and succeed.

The spool mechanic and level design is creative and well done. I would have preferred the charm collectibles as required to move on or something, rather than find out later that you didn’t collect enough. The artwork and music are nice. In particular the cover art is really well done. Well made submission overall, nice work.
Love the idea of exploring multiple screens with the spool. Very unique idea.
Very nice idea! Trying to traverse the environment as efficiently as possible was fun, and the map seemed quite expansive.
Exceptionally charming, inventive, and fun. Great work!
[EDIT 2025-10-02]: Oh, almost forgot: my only note is that it would have been nice to have the yarn bar display more than 100% yarn, perhaps by overlaying a textured bar over the regular full bar.
Thank you for the feedback and completing it!
The game is super cute, and I also find the game idea very creative. Top!
Awesome and cute... The idea of being bound to a set number of movement because of a string you're attached too is really intuitive, and, like, it's really cute xDD
Good job! :D
Hope this was fun for you!! Thank you :D
It was! Thank you so much for playing
Super nice idea and very well executed !
I played a game with a similar mechanic to this in another jam a while back, and thought it was really interesting. you've implemented it well here with some good level design. nice work!
The game is so cute!!! Sadly I got a bit stuck in a place where I couldn't get out, but I will try it out again when I have more time!!!
great game !! stuck in the whisinng well at the cat hunter but it was a fun playtime ^^
the throne room was a "wahou effect" ^^
Excellent level design! And the main character is so cute!!!
Steller core gameplay loop. Incredibly addictive, and impressive from a level design perspective as well. Music is nice, moody, though it sounds more SNES than Game Boy. Sound effects are spot on though. I only wish I could put it on a cart and take it with my on vacation this week.
Thank you! We really appreciate it!
awesome concept! very unique and so simple to understand. a great pick up and play game. have spent the longest time playing this one so far!
Thank you! We're glad you enjoyed it!
Congrats on your submission! I like the artwork and concept of the game. I kept getting caught and couldn't pass that section. I liked how you took advantage of the color swap, but I did find a bug with it. When you go to look at the map screen and come back, it swaps to the original game palette and not the palette for the wishing well section. Good job though
I couldn’t stop play!
well done!
I LOVE IT, specially the ghost-chase part, very well done
I gotta say thats some pretty well done level design
Thank you, it was quite a challenge to combine the movement mechanics with some metroidvania style exploration but I think it worked out in the end.
I'm totally hooked with this gameplay. It's a cool idea to play a cat that runs out of yarn with every move :) I like the music, but it would be even better with a little more Gameboy flair.
Glad you liked the game and music! If we get to continue working on the game I'll definitely make it more "chiptuney", I was worried if I crushed the audio any more people would find it irritating.
neat game! I do like the exploration part, though it is a bit frustrating to run out of yarn and think "am i really going to go back" haha
