How does your game meet GBJam's theme?
It tells a story about a character searching for its memories in an haunted house. Playing with lights and level design to grab the player's attention to make him play slow, almost like having "fear".

Memory loss can be creepy!
Very fitting atmoshphere
Interesting that you get a specific comment when losing
I like clearing the memory as kind of putting the pieces of a puzzle together, forming the final image
Showing the most crucial part of the image last is neat, but I think still a lot was revealed before that one. Still very neat final reveal in the text.
thanks a lot for the feedbacks!
We loved the comments and felt aligned with everything. Tricking the player into not understanding the plot until very late it’s hard 😂.
Thanks again for playing it and good job for completing it!
I commented on the game itself too but I just wanted to say I love this. A lot of other submissions have good mechanics and art, but don't have a clear goal or ending or story - you know, a game. This one is a complete experience and I really appreciate that and I think the art style and everything about the presentation are consistent and just great!
I would like to be able to see the ghosts from a little further away - some of the jumps felt like pure luck, and the physics are a tad floaty for my taste, but that's just personal preference.
I really enjoy the story - it reminds me of a Lovecraft story for more reasons than one. The "twist" ending is obvious to the player long before it becomes clear to the character, just like Lovecraft, and the reveal in the mirror at the end reminds me of The Outsider.
Awesome awesome job all around!
Comments like this push us through jams and make all the effort worth. We are so happy that you appreciated the game and felt the consistency we put together ❤️.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write the comment, it means a lot to us!
The ghosts hitbox is a bit too generous, making it super easy to bump into them accidentally. One thing that might be interesting, would be to see their eyes in the darkness. That way you can plan ahead if you manage to see the eyes.
Lovely art style, good game. Congrats!
thanks for the feedback. That’s a great idea!!
Nice game ! The art looks very good ! The ghosts were a bit more frustrating than spooky, because of hit/hurtboxes that were probably not permissive enough, but the small story to tie the levels together is pretty neat.
thank you so much. I’m sorry for the unforgiving ghost hitbox, will try to make it bilanced next time, thanks for the feedback!
nice game, i liked how the dude disintegrates when he sees a ghost.

The game looks great, and has a nice story. The only complaint I have is that the hitboxes are pretty unfair to the player. There is very little space between seeing a ghost and being killed by one. So when you are playing it for the first time, there is pretty much no way to avoid them. I would either make the hitbox the size of the player sprite, or make the ghosts visible in the shadows. That way there is a way of avoiding them without constantly dying.
thank you for playing!
Unfortunately I understood the issues only a bit later and found the gameplay a little harder than expected by reading comments. I added the manual exactly for that.
The idea was to make the player scared of ghosts, thus being unable to enter in line of sight with them. Turned out to be a bit confusing, hope you liked it any case.
Thanks for the feedback!
10/10 for the art. I've rated 37 games so far and this has been my favorite art I've seen. I enjoyed the game, my only complaint is the jump key was the same for entering doors. There was a room where a jump was right near the door and I kept going in the door instead of jumping. It was kinda frustrating. Other than that, the game was great.
Oh, thank you very much! We do really appreciate your words! These comments are a bless.
About the key, yes, I forgot that we had another key available to bind as an action…. Kinda messed up a couple of levels.
Thank you nonetheless for playing it! We are very happy ❤️
Game looks nice, for some reason I loved the screenshots when I saw them, having a light halo works pretty well for spooky games xD. I loved how you added the game manual in the itch page explaining each level.
Thanks! We added it to make everyone able to reach the end and explore the narrative. Thanks for appreciating it
This was lovely! I really liked the atmosphere and narrative.
The darkness mechanic was nicely implemented. The character's "death" animation gives a clue to what's really going on :P
thanks for playing it! We are very happy that you appreciated the story! Good job on grasping the details ❤️
Very pretty game! although I couldn't get too far. I've found the death condition to be a little too unforgiving, but awesome entry nonetheless!
Thanks for the feedback!
To ease it up, we built always an "alternative" path and keep in mind that the jump can be used even mid-fall.
I've added some info to help anyone stuck somewhere since we've spent many hours on the ending and would appreciate some feedbacks. Thanks!
amazing background art! i found the collision a bit unforgiving but still fun to play
Thanks for the feedback!
As a suggestion, the jump can be used even mid-fall.

I really like how the colors were used in your game!!
