I'm not sure how to describe this. I feel shaken by this game in a way standard horror doesn't really do. Perhaps it's that it finds horror in the ordinary and mundane, but improbable. The sort of thing that can just happen, with no rhyme or reason.
The storytelling here is top notch. The visuals stellar. Sound and music are used deftly to add to the tension, the dread.
My heart is still beating fast several minutes after playing this.

How does your game meet GBJam's theme?
The Death of Me is a horror game for Gameboy, inspired by my life with chronic illness. (Spooky!)

This is beyond Spooky… This is Scary (the same thing?) and also Sad. Really well made and the story and art and other stuff in this game is just… wow
I wasn't expecting to play such a sad themed game. Knowing it's based on someone's experiences makes it even more depressive. Amazing game. I tried to get another ending or find some kind of secret, but of course there was no way to prevent what would happen. I really liked it
Wow. This game gave me chills. Really well made all-round. Amazing work! Also, those initial food drawings looked really tasty.
I was not expecting a GB game to make me cry, but here I am. Everything started out so hopeful with those delicious breakfasts, and day by day all the hope was ripped away. Everything was very well done, except the storytelling which was exceptional. You are talented.
Wow, what a game! I'm so impressed by how you succeaded to use the theme. At the end I was so uncomfortable I just wanted the game to end soon. So far, it's probably the most terrifying game I've played during the jam. Well done!
Quite the story to tell here! Was a good game to play, with good graphics and music/SFX.
this is insane, it reminds me of Pokemon, (art style)
I enjoyed the gameplay, the sounds were ever so clean. the movement felt nice, I loved it overall. solid game to play and should be a full game.
Oh my gosh, this is amazing! The art, the sounds, the movement, it all works well together to create a really great GameBoy feel. And the story? Oh man... I was squirming at the blood thinner part. The spookiness is executed very well.
Amazing job!
wow, never anticipated feeling quite like this reviewing a game jam submission. very well done
I really love the vibe this gives off! Forgot I was playing a Gameboy game for a seconded it's really immersive.
Oh, that got dark. Kinda don't feel like reviewing more game jam submission. I'll go shower, take meds, and go for a walk.
Wow! That was dark! It is incredible how well you were able to convey this emotional story in gameboy style. Perfect submission to the jam and an amazing gameplay experience. Very impressive!
This hits hard...it made me feel things. This is amazing. Spooky might be reductive here, and the fact that this can actually run on a gameboy definitely makes this spot on w.r.t. the theme. Honestly a great little gem. Amazing job!
That physical illness hits too close to home!
I wonder if it could've been a little shorter and still be a harrowing crawl up your feelings nonetheless.
