Really liked the idea of using pinball mechanics to gather resources and upgrade. The physics felt solid and the upgrade system added a nice layer. Would be great to see sound effects and music added to enhance the experience. Overall, a strong foundation with lots of potential

I got stuck in a situation where the planet was stuck rebounding between the two bumpers. I couldn't find a button to tilt the solar system and free it.

At first I didn't know what the deal was with the game, until I saw the upgrade screen. Suddenly everything became a lot more interesting. I found gather water was far easier than ore, to the point that in order to get more ore I simply aimed the release spring at one of those three planets and let the planet-ball sink afterward. That was very efficient but probably not in the spirit of the game.

I'd have kept playing to unlock everything but the game got stuck in this endless bumper-ing.

As noted, sound effects would go a long way to increase player engagement. Along with some flashing lights and the usual pinball related tropes.

Oh no!  I’m impressed that you managed to hit them at just the right angle for that!  I could add something to add some randomness in the bounces if the flippers haven’t been collided with in a while.

You’re also totally right about the water—one feature that didn’t make it was “combo” upgrades, where hitting more stuff before losing the ball or hitting the same thing multiple times in a row would give extra resources.  That would make dying as a mechanic only useful when you have an upgrade ready to purchase.

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

such a promising setup for a game - both narratively and gameplaywise -  really hyped by the idea. and your physics system seems rock solid. I can't wrap my head around why you would not implement sound in a pinpall game as like the second thing you do, but I guess we all have different priorities (I started my game with looking for free mechanical keyboard sounds ;-) )

I came across a couple of submissions that used really powerful free pixel art tools for generating planets and galaxies and I thought, why not let you know about them, maybe there's something for you in there:

Indeed, as my first game I just really wanted to iron out the gameplay and make sure it was a smooth as possible.  I also tend to want to make everything I use from scratch, especially early on in my journey so I can force myself to think about what I actually want rather than what's easily accessible.  But those tools are super cool!  I love the rotation on the planets.  If I continue working on this game, I definitely need to model Pinn out so that it can rotate in any direction and animate while moving.  And... add sound. :)

Thanks for playing!

okay, that's a very good reason. i can respect that a lot.

I didn’t expect to see a pinball-style game in a game jam – that’s awesome! I really like the execution and the point-collecting mechanic. The next step in development could be adding more resources, more elements on the board, and some form of competition or challenge.

You should consider adding a web version (not everyone wants to download an .exe file). I made the same mistake at first, but eventually added a web build – and it really paid off.

Yeah, I built for web initially but had some issues that weren't present in the windows build...

one feature that didn't make it was a third resource generated by a "spinner" at the back side of the loops.  Flinging the ball around them is quite fun but isn't rewarded at all currently (if anything, it's just a waste of time), so I think that would be a nice addition to encourage the fun.

Great game,  missing sound, i could easily spend hours playing this, i love pinball and this one  works nicely, i love the idea of upgrading after each game

Great game! hope you update soon

I don't think I'm supposed to add new features like sound after the deadline.  But I'm considering spending a bit longer on it later to add the pieces I didn't get around to in the first 10 days!

Amazing game! So much fun! No sound, but overall a really enjoyable experience. :D

Great implementation of the theme! I also liked the "meta" game where you upgrade your world.
Great entry!

Nice game, I liked that you didnt lose or die when the "world" fell out.

I got a little addicted and had to unlock all upgrades. In the end I almost panicked when I had one upgrade left and realised I only had one minute before an job interview started. No worries, I force quit and joined the meeting in time.

The water and ore was a little unbalanced in terms of how hard it was to gather, once you entered a water area it was easy to stay there or shoot the ball over to the other water area.

Great job!

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed it! (and still made your interview XD)

I agree--water might be a bit easier for exactly the reason you said.  Thanks for playing!

Some really great physics there! I wish for some music and sfx for the completeness.

fun game! idk if its me but there was no sound

Developer

No sound unfortunately--the physics took a bit longer than expected.  Thanks for playing!
