A space shooter where you need to learn his gimmick to end well.
The game glitch and emit crazy noises in the game over screen.
Good job with your game. It was fun, but yeah, it glitched out on me in the middle of each playthrough. I do like how you incorporated the Tiny World theme through the narrowing of the game. Keep up the good work!
Can you give me more details on the glitch? I know there’s a sound glitch when you die.
I think the first time it happened, it was when I died. At first I thought it was intentional until the glitched sound wouldn't stop. Also I think the gameplay was frozen. I can't recall what button I pressed, but it went to the main menu and the sound went away.
The second time it happened, I definitely looked at the player health 'cuz I thought the error was due to the player death, but it said there was still 2 health points. I was just dodging some enemy bullets so maybe the interface hadn't updated the correct health yet or maybe I didn't die and the sound/freeze glitch is due to something else.
I hope that's helpful. If I had known you were interested in that level of feedback, I would've have taken a screenshot and paid more attention. Sorry.
Good luck trying to suss out the issue.
No worries at all. I appreciate the additional info.
Work was pretty crazy last week, so not surprising some bugs crept in.
Definitely thinking about having a set of example sound affects to avoid this while waiting for audio in future projects.
Great job submitting a game to the jam! I loved the retro vibe to the game! It glitched a bit when I died in the sounds, but I was able to restart just fine.
A fun retro arcade shooter I think :-D The pause / restart buttons didn't work for me, so it just made it an extra challenge to try and beat my score haha. Well done making this game, I hope you had a happy jam !
I like your menu UI - how the hover state animates between buttons! Feels very polished. Got a bit of a sound glitch at game over, the death sound is looping indefinitely or something. Going back to the main menu fixes it. Fun game, well done!
Yep, I’m calling the death sound on every frame, just ran out of time tweaking other things to fix that sadly. Thanks for checking it out.
A nice project, it was fun to test and try out
I don't know if you implemented this, but I love how the beat hits when you fire :) It was so funky. When I died, the audio glitched out. But other than that. Solid entry.
Yeah, the audio glitch was my fault, I think I’m calling it every frame rather than once.
I’ll have to look back at it. The guy who did the music also did the SFX, so it may be the sound he created for the player shot blends with the music well.
Awesome job, love the vibe
simple and fun, menu effects are great
Good game liked the music. one thing that could be worked on however is the indication of taking damage maybe add a sfx and maybe the player goes red. did like the concept though the map changing sizes especially because i can decide whether to pick a size change up.
Thanks for checking it out. Yes sadly whenever I sign up for a jam, work just decides it’s going to throw everything at me. My plan was to add a white sprite while you were invincible, but just ran out of time since I was heading to family stuff the last day of the jam.
