From the screenshots I assumed this was made in Unreal, it was a pleasant surprise to see it was Godot. Very impressive game, tons of fun! I loved the luck element with the random upgrade ranges. Getting a gold 90% reload upgrade was so satisfying! Loved the visuals too, very DOOM like. I wish the camera was pulled back a little so you had more time to react to the quicker enemies, but otherwise I had no issues or complaints, great job on the submission!
Excellent game, well done! very well put together and the atmosphere you created is spot on
Really good design and impressive graphics!
I will try to not repeat what others have said already. There are two things that I'd add to the game: a FPS limiter setting which also could help with preventing the low frame drops (talking about the 0.1% fps spikes when in example effects pop, or enemies are instanced), and the other thing that i'd suggest is giving the camera a bit more distance from the ground, because when the enemies come from the corners or the sides you have more than enough time to react, but when they come from straight down due to the camera angle, you don't.
It's a very well done game and impressive for such a short time period, cheers! ;)
Thank you!
This is great feedback, and you make some excellent points. We will definitely look into tweaking the camera position for better visibility and adding an FPS limiter to address the frame drops.
I appreciate your insights and am glad you enjoyed the game! :)
You're welcome! Good luck! :D
I've just noticed that for some reason my comment was posted twice and deleted the other one. Itchio's been weird for the past days, didn't let me upload screenshots either.
Really impressive graphics! It's also impressive how complete the game feels.
The only thing I would've wished for would be some more inventiveness and creative ideas, for example for the upgrades, movement mechanics, weapon, enemy behaviour or even just setting. It all feels a bit standard. Really well done for what it is though, I do commend that!
Thank you! I'm glad you like the graphics. I agree that having more variety and unique elements would have been great. The scope became too big, so we had to scale back in the end. I appreciate you taking the time to play and give us feedback. Hopefully, we can improve upon it in the future :)
Very well-polished ARPG shooter. Love the round progression! Would love to see more variety from the progression system and combat mechanics.
Thank you! I completely agree about adding more variety to the progression system and combat mechanics. We initially planned for more variety in enemies, weapons, and abilities, but had to simplify due to time constraints and our small team. Thank you for playing and we appreciate your feedback :)
Love the doom like atmosphere. Very impressed this was done in Godot. Honestly made me rethink some things. Amazing job!
Thank you, I'm happy you liked the atmosphere! Using Godot was a great experience for this game jam, can highly recommend it
Really cool game got to round 12 xD
Nice, we're happy you enjoyed our game :)
Really cool game. Would be awesome to have different levels with different music genres, thinking like Saints Row 4, a 60's hell, or Cyberpunk techno hell. :P
Great idea! Different music genres per level could definitely spice things up. Appreciate the suggestion :)
Wow! This is badass, loved the soundtrack, and from a fellow Godot dev, this looks fantastic!!
Hey, Godot friend :) I'm glad you enjoyed it and thank you for your kind words!
The graphics are super, straight up loved it all! Cool!
Thank you very much! I'm glad you liked the graphics!
This is very enjoyable. Rocking sound track.
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it
This is a beautiful game! The amount of detail is stunning for a game jam. Others have mentioned the character animations could use some work. My first and second playthroughs were vastly different though, probably just bad RNG, but I wasn't getting any significant upgrades in my first playthrough and by wave 10 it was just a chore running around in circles doing pitiful damage to the hordes that were surrounding me. The second playthrough though, I immediately got a huge reload reduction, recoil reduction, and damage boost. I finally stopped around wave 23 because it was too easy just mowing everything down without having to really bother aiming or pay attention. It was still a very fun game, and if it was a fully fleshed out game, I could see myself paying money for it. Well done!
Hey there, thanks so much for playing and for the awesome feedback! I'm thrilled to hear you found the game beautiful; that means a lot to us. You're absolutely right about the character animations needing some work; that's definitely something we'll focus on going forward.
Regarding your experience with upgrades and difficulty scaling, it's clear we need to reassess the balance there. We've also become aware of a bug where upgrades carry over when restarting, which wasn't intended. So fixing these kinds of issues and better balancing our game is a priority.
Hearing you say you'd pay for a fleshed-out version is truly motivating! I'm glad you had fun overall. Thanks again for playing!
Really impressive presentation! The way the gun lights up, the way the bullet casings are heated when they come out of the rifle and then cool as they hit the ground, and also stick around forever! The dark, oppressive atmosphere! And the perfectly fitting music, of course!
In terms of gameplay, it's a bit difficult for me to say. I thought of a quote "Given the opportunity, players will optimize the fun out of a game." Because the camera is so close and the demons overwhelm quickly, I found the best strategy was to stand with my back to a dead end in front of a narrow passage and fire directly into the wall across from me, making all the bullets ricochet down the corridor and killing everything. As the waves went on my upgrades made this even easier, with reloads being so instant I never had to take my finger off the mouse button. Which is, surely, not the intended way to play the game!
Also, I noticed that when I restarted a run it carried over the upgrades I'd gotten, which was probably not intended?
Thank you so much for your detailed feedback and for taking the time to share your thoughts! I'm really glad you enjoyed the presentation and the small details.
Balancing the gameplay is definitely something we need to address, and you're right about the upgrades carrying over after a restart being a bug I missed. Thank you for bringing it to my attention; I'll make sure to fix that!
Once again, thank you for your detailed feedback. It's greatly appreciated and will help us improve the game :)
Hey nice, Godot buddies! Congratulations, this is a great game! I did also have a bit of lag for the first bit, but it got better.
Hello, Godot friend! Thank you for your kind words! I'll definitely look into reducing that initial period of lag to improve the experience from the start. Thank you for playing :)
Although the animations may need some work, the graphics are pretty nice.
I love how the end of the barrel gets red hot, Very cool!

Thank you for playing our game and for your feedback! I'm glad you liked the graphics and the red-hot barrel effect. I agree that there are areas that need more work, and improving the animations is definitely one of them.
The look is really cool. i love the effects. Nice work:)
Thanks, we're glad you enjoyed it :)
